Rajasthan United sign Kyrgyz midfielder Bektur Amangeldiev
The player has played 37 matches in his career and scored two goals.
Rajasthan United have completed the signing of Bektur Amangeldiev, Khel Now can confirm. A source close to the development informed Khel Now, “Bektur Amangeldiev has signed a one-year deal at Rajasthan United.”
The club have started revamping the squad ahead of the Durand Cup 2022. Amangeldiev is also expected to feature in the prestigious tournament for the Rajasthan-based outfit.
About the player
Bektur Amangeldiev hails from Kyrgyzstan. The defensive midfielder started his career at D-Manas Bishkek. In 2016, he made a move to Abdysh-Ata II. After spending two years at the club, he shifted base to Ilbirs Bishkek. The following year (2019) saw the 23-year-old join Kaganat. The player’s last trade was plied in Dordoi Bishkek in January, 2022.
Rajasthan United have signed the Kyrgyz player to add more power to their midfield. The defensive midfielder has played 37 matches in his career to-date. In the process, he has also netted two goals, which came in the BC Olimp Premier League. Also, despite being a defensive midfielder, the 23-year-old can pitch in as a centre-back at times.
Rajasthan United’s preparations for upcoming season
Rajasthan United are all set to participate in the Durand Cup. They have already completed the signing of Surchandra Singh from Real Kashmir on a two-year deal, as Khel Now had reported earlier. In the Durand Cup, they are engulfed by ATK Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Mumbai City and Indian Navy in Group B. All their matches will be held in Kolkata.
The previous season set up a milestone in Indian football. The vertical witnessed a team from Rajasthan for the first time in the I-League. However, their I-League campaign wasn’t a whelming one. In the 17 matches they played, the club registered five wins, seven draws and six losses. They ended sixth in the points table.
Getting hold of the I-League is expected to be Rajasthan United’s target. The primary aim however, will be performing well in the Durand Cup and throwing a challenge towards the Indian Super League outfits present in the group!
