Marco Asensio likely to miss entire 2019-20 season
It was reported that the winger has ruptured his ACL in the left knee.
Marco Asensio was stretched out of the International Champions Cup friendly between Real Madrid and Arsenal and the Spanish midfielder might miss the whole 2019-20 season. It is reported that he has ruptured his cruciate ligament.
Shortly after Marco Asensio scored the equaliser, he attempted a challenge on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyan and went down instantly. He then was seen burying his head in his hands while the club doctors rushed to him with a stretcher. Mirror reports that Asensio was later driven to the hospital.
Asensio along with Gareth Bale was introduced at the start of the second half and they scored two within the next three minutes. Asensio set up the first goal for Bale and scored the equaliser himself.
Arsenal had taken the two-goal lead in the first half. Alexandre Lacazette converted the penalty as Nacho Fernandez was sent off and later Aubameyang scored the second at the 24th-minute mark.
Talking about the injury, head coach Zinedine Zidane said, "We're concerned. It's his knee, he's gone straight to hospital for some tests so we'll see… But it doesn't look good."

Marco missed the UEFA Euro U-21 Championships to join the pre-season with Real Madrid in a bid to work his way up and regain his form. The winger had a dismal last season where he could only score six goals and assisted another nine in his 44 appearances.
The player has not been at his personal best while many believe that he is not worth the hype people thought of. With atleast nine months out of action, the injury might force Zidane to keep Bale and play Welsh international in place of Asensio.
