Fortis FC vs FC Goa Player Ratings: Chiki and Sandesh Jhingan impress in AFC Challenge League 2026-27 clash
Chiki’s late winner sees Gouramangi’s Gaurs steal all three points in Kuwait.
The Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium in Hawally, Kuwait, hosted the first game of the second matchweek in the AFC Challenge League 2026-27 season as Fortis FC from Bangladesh locked horns with India’s FC Goa.
FC Goa were coming off a narrow defeat to Tajikistan’s Regar-TadAZ in the last game whereas Fortis FC also lost the opening game to Kuwait’s Qadsia 4-0. Both sides were in dire need of a win to keep their knockout hopes alive.
The match began with Jorge Ortiz giving the Gaurs an early breakthrough in the sixth minute after an assist from Udanta Singh. Gouramangi didn’t sit back and relax and made attacking reinforcements in the second half after subbing off Ortiz and Harsh Patre.
FC Goa created too many chances, but it was Fortis who scored the equaliser in the 78th minute via Rafayel Tudu. The assist came from Nigerian striker Chukwude. The game was heading for a stalemate, but the Gaurs had the fire inside them.
Francisco Feuillassier gave a brilliant assist to Chiki in the 85th minute, who made it 1-2. The game ended 1-2 in FC Goa’s favour.
FC Goa Player Ratings
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
Lara Sharma – 6.5/10
Lara had a relatively easy day at work. Fortis hardly created chances, and there were very few shots on target tonight from the Bangladeshi outfit.
A brilliant direct free kick from the Gabonese striker was saved well by Lara to help FC Goa defend their slender lead. When Fortis scored the equaliser, Sharma could have done better with his positioning.
Ronney Willson – 7/10
Ronney’s combination play with Udanta on the flanks was deadly as FC Goa kept penetrating Fortis’ defence from the right flank.
On the other hand, Ibrahim hardly had any chances to make late entries. However, Wilson couldn’t track back early to prevent that equaliser.
Sandesh Jhingan – 8/10

A proper captain’s performance from the FC Goa captain, who was everywhere tonight. From making those crucial clearances and tackles to deny Stephen Chukwude, to making offensive runs during set pieces, Jhingan was omnipresent and was brilliant tonight defensively.
Alex Zalaya – 6/10

The former Real Zaragoza defender had a decent outing tonight defensively with captain Jhingan. Pa Babou had a few chances, but Zalaya ensured that Fortis did not make the most of those crosses and cleared them in the first chance.
Zalaya’s positioning was under scrutiny after Fortis scored the equaliser.
Alex Vallejo – 6.5/10

The former Huddersfield player not only had a great game defensively but also made those overlapping and accelerated runs upfront to set up Ortiz.
Harsh Patre – 7/10
Patre was solid defensively in the centre of the park, and his link-up combination play with Gaonkar was brilliant tonight in the midfield as the Gaurs dominated the midfield in the first half.
He was subbed off after the first half to make way for Franchu.
Parchit Gaonkar – 7/10
Gaonkar had a great game tonight. Another player who dominated the midfield.
Fortis’ Essa Jallow and Arik Bista were totally outplayed by Gaonkar. Gouramangi had to forcefully sub him off after he seemingly was in pain, and Haobam Singh made way for him.
Udanta Singh – 7.5/10
Udanta in the wings was a major threat for FC Goa. He gave that crucial assist to Ortiz in the sixth minute and helped the Gaurs take an early lead in the game.
The right winger was brilliant tonight, and he kept supplying those dangerous balls from the flank.
Jorge Ortiz – 8/10

The Spaniard, who has previously plied his trade with Atletico Madrid, scored the opening goal of the game.
It took Ortiz just six minutes to break the deadlock and put the Gaurs ahead. After a tiring shift tonight, he was subbed off to make way for KC Malsawmsanga
Chiki – 8.5/10

Chiki had a decent shift tonight. He created a few chances and tested Perera a few times.
He was a constant threat in the attack for Goa and was impressive. He scored the winner in the 85th minute as FC Goa won the game 1-2 against Fortis.
Muhammed Nemil – 7/10
Nemil had an impressive performance tonight. Despite not finding his name in the scoresheet, Nemil came agonisingly close to scoring on a lot of occasions.
From making those dangerous forward runs to testing the Sri Lankan keeper, Nemil was brilliant.
Substitutes
Franchu – 7.5/10
The Argentine striker was subbed on early in the second half after Ortiz was benched.
He created too many chances and came very close to scoring in the early quarter of the second half. He gave that match-winning assist to Chiki that won the game for the Gaurs.
KC Malsawmsanga – 6/10
He was an attacking change from Gouramangi, who didn’t sit back and relax after taking an early 1 goal lead via Ortiz.
However, apart from a few instances, Malsawmsanga looked off colour.
Haobam Singh – 6.5/10
Haobam came after Gaonkar couldn’t continue due to fitness concerns. He had a decent outing in the middle of the park.
Sitroy Carvalho – 6/10
Carvalho was a defensive change who came on late in the 89th minute and was tasked with the responsibility of safeguarding FC Goa’s lead in the dying minutes of the game.
Akash Singh – 6/10
Akash Singh came late in the game and did not do much.
