FC Goa, being the away side, are all ready to lock horns against Tajikistan’s FC Regar-TadAZ at their home stadium Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium, Hawally (Kuwait), on Saturday, 17th October, 2026, from 6:55 PM, as both sides will look for an opening victory to kickstart their campaign.

Asian stage awaits FC Goa

A quick fact to check for everyone is that there is just one qualification spot from each group that has been settled in the AFC Challenge League 2026-27 season, and as the statistics are congested with only the winner of the group being guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals, the Gaurs need to get maximum points from the group stages and will look to produce a clinical display against the unpredictable Tajikistan side in their AFC Challenge League opener.

After getting a loss in their last game that represented Asia, the ACL Two Qualifiers, where they got defeated by FK Arkadag, and from that note, another AFC game is waiting for the Gaurs, but this time it might be a good test for them as a win will definitely boost their morale. They are going to play the AFC Challenge League for the first time, unlike the Red & Gold Brigade, who were the first Indian side to feature in this competition from India.

Gouramangi Singh needs to have his players maintain a really compact shape to be able to hold their own against Regar-TadAZ and strongly compete in the clash. As they have to maintain a good, compact defensive shape at the highest stage, this is not the only thing they need to follow; the Goan side also needs to focus on burying their attacking chances.
