The upcoming clash between Indian Women’s Football Team and Thailand is set to be a virtual final in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers. With both teams tied at the top of Group B, boasting 9 points and an impressive +22 goal difference, this match will decide who earns the coveted spot in the prestigious tournament.

India and Thailand have been in sensational form, delivering dominant victories in their previous matches, and now it all comes down to this showdown. With both teams having maintained perfect defensive records so far, a clean sheet in this decisive match will be crucial.

AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers Group B Points Table

As things stand currently Indian Women’s Football Team and Thailand are jointly at the top of the table with 9 points under their belt and a humongous +22 goal difference from both teams. The hosts have also left no stone unturned to secure a spot in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

Thailand kick-started their campaign with a 4-0 win over Timor Leste before thrashing Iraq 7-0. In their penultimate group stage fixture, they secured a gigantic 11-0 win against Mongolia. This win not only took them to the top spot alongside India, but also saw them equal Blue Tigresses in terms of goal difference.

The Blue Tigresses began their odyssey with a historic 13-0 victory over Mongolia after Pyari Xaxa scored five in that game. A brace from Punjab’s Manisha Kalyan saw India thrash Timor Leste 4-0. In their second-last group stage game against Iraq, India registered a trademark 5-0 win to seal the top spot.

Ahead of the final matchweek, things are pretty much vivid as India and Thailand will lock horns against each other for a spot in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026. Other teams like Iraq, Timor-Leste and Mongolia have bowed out of the qualifying race after succumbing to heavy defeats. If India vs Thailand ends in a draw, the top place will be decided by a penalty shoot-out. The group topper will qualify for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026.

India and Thailand to play a virtual final for a spot in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026

The upcoming game between Blue Tigresses and Thailand in the final match week would determine the fate of Group B. Both teams have delivered a solid performance in their previous games.

Not only have India and Thailand registered big victories and registered a mammoth +22 goal difference, but they have also been very disciplined defensively. Both teams have not conceded a single goal in the competition, and another clean sheet would be vital ahead of the all-important clash.

India will heavily rely upon their strong attacking force, which has been extraordinarily brilliant in the last three games. Head coach Crispin Chetrri will need to pick his best combination of players to get the better of the Thailand team.

The hosts will have the added advantage of playing in front of their local crowd at the 700th Anniversary Stadium in Chiang Mai. Futoshi Ikeda will be keen to see his team carry on the momentum after a big win in their previous game against Mongolia.
