Top five best performers in AIFF Super Cup 2025-26

FC Goa won their second consecutive Super Cup title.

The AIFF Super Cup 2025 came to a thrilling finish as FC Goa defeated East Bengal in the final to clinch the coveted championship.

It marked the first time that any team successfully defended their Super Cup title, with the Gaurs winning the trophy for the second consecutive edition to ensure they will play in an AFC competition next season.

At a time when uncertainty is growing over the future of Indian football and the top-tier system, the Super Cup served as a breath of fresh air and gave fans a chance to witness some competitive matches between the country’s best teams.

It also featured the majority of the top footballers, with certain individuals performing at a very high level in the Super Cup as well.

The 2025 Super Cup featured some brilliant players who played with a positive mindset and consistency, and helped their teams achieve good results. On that note, let’s look at the five best players from the AIFF Super Cup 2025.

5. Vikram Partap Singh (Mumbai City)

Vikram Pratap Singh seems to have carved a significant role for himself in the Indian team under Khalid Jamil’s captaincy, thanks to his impressive performances for Mumbai City.

Vikram Partap was promising for Mumbai City in the 2025 AIFF Super Cup, producing some eye-catching performances for them.

He was especially brilliant in their opening match against Sporting Club Delhi, with the Indian winger scoring an impressive brace, which included a goal in the 94th minute as well!

Vikram was pretty promising and worked hard in the win over Kerala Blasters, tormenting their defenders with his speedy and unpredictable runs in the opposition half. He was surprisingly benched in the semifinal against FC Goa, only coming on for the last 20 minutes or so, but looked promising with his overall movement and desire to create major chances for his side.

Singh proved that he can play a more prominent role for Mumbai City (and even India), and he was among the better Indian forwards in the Super Cup, too.

4. Dejan Drazic (FC Goa)

How should FC Goa line up against Al Zawraa SC in the opening ACL 2 fixture?

Dejan Drazic continues to prove himself as a valuable player for FC Goa, and his bright performances in the AIFF Super Cup showed why he’s so highly-regarded by Manolo Marquez. The Serbian forward excellently started the tournament by scoring the pivotal second goal in FC Goa’s 2-0 win over Jamshedpur FC.

He also scored in their win over Inter Kashi in the second game, scoring his goal as early as the fourth minute. Drazic was a real threat to his opponents, making clever runs down the left flank and also being able to deliver the ball into the danger zone.

He was pretty impressive in the semifinal against Mumbai City, creating a few chances and helping open up their defensive shape as well. Drazic might not have been able to score against East Bengal in the final, but he converted his penalty perfectly to inspire his side to a clutch win.

Even though he needs to refine some of his final product, Drazic’s exciting performances in the Super Cup prove he’ll be a key part of FC Goa for quite the foreseeable future.

3. Anwar Ali (East Bengal)

Anwar Ali will be key for East Bengal FC in Kalinga Super Cup 2025

Anwar Ali is proving himself to be one of the best players in Indian football, and he continued his good form in 2025 with his impressive performance in the Super Cup. Despite a shaky start in the draw against Dempo SC, Ali regained his composure and helped to hold together a strong defensive line for the Red & Gold Brigade.

He produced an impressive performance in the win over Chennaiyin FC, before frustrating Mohun Bagan to help East Bengal keep a clean sheet in their 0-0 draw against them.

Ali maintained his impressive performances in the knockout stages, being extremely compelling against Punjab FC in the semifinals with his clever positioning and challenges.

He was also able to keep the FC Goa frontline quiet with his efficient defensive work in the final, but was unfortunate that his attacking line wasn’t able to back up Anwar’s heroics in the backline.

2. Borja Herrera (FC Goa)

Borja Herrera was the heartbeat of FC Goa’s midfield line in their successful Super Cup campaign, consistently delivering some impressive performances.

He helped his side control the midfield battle in the majority of their matches and was particularly lethal in their 3-0 thrashing of Inter Kashi in the group stages. Borja scored a brace in that match, showing how clinical he can be in the right places at the right times for his side.

Borja played a key role in his team’s victory over Mumbai City in the semi-finals, helping them dominate midfield, move the ball smartly, and maintain more regular possession. He continued his good work in the win over East Bengal, not allowing them that much freedom in the central areas and aiding his backline as well.

Herrera might’ve missed his penalty in the shootout, but his overall performances throughout the Super Cup campaign were impressive, as he showed why Manolo Marquez values him so much.

1. Kevin Sibille (East Bengal)

The AIFF Super Cup turned out to be the tournament where East Bengal’s new Argentine defender, Kevin Sibille, proved how reliable he can be under pressure. The Argentine centre-back helped his team in the group stage after a poor start, with a stellar performance against Chennaiyin FC.

Sibille scored a brilliant goal in Chennaiyin FC’s win, giving his team the lead in that big match. He was rock-solid in the 0-0 draw against Mohun Bagan, keeping Jamie Maclaren isolated and quiet for the majority of the game.

He did a good job in dealing with the Punjab FC frontline and keeping Nsungusi Effiong quiet in the game, neutralizing his goal-scoring threat. To his credit, the Argentine centre-back continued his impressive form in the final against Goa, holding together a really sturdy defensive shape to stop them from really tormenting his goalkeeper.

Despite coming up short in the final, Sibille produced several eye-catching performances in the Super Cup to prove why he’s been a smart addition to the East Bengal backline.
