East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

East Bengal lift the Durand Cup 2026 title.

East Bengal FC lift the Durand Cup 2026 title as they defeated Mohun Bagan SG in a Kolkata Derby with a scoreline of 4-1.

The VYBK Stadium in Kolkata was completely packed tonight as it witnessed another Kolkata Derby and on top of that with a title on the line.

Both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan SG players took the ground with only one aim on their mind: to win the Durand Cup 2026 title.

The match kicked off with Mohun Bagan SG dominating the first couple of minutes creating chance after chance with East Bengal FC looking completely on the back foot, but a piledriver at the 10th minute from Bipin Singh completely changed the momentum putting East Bengal 1-0 ahead. Just 2 minutes after the first goal, Edmund Lalrindika stuck the second goal of the night at the 12th minute putting East Bengal 2-0 up.

However, this was not it. The Torchbearers stuck a third goal just after 10 minutes with Edmund Lalrindika getting another goal to his name. This led to the Mohun Bagan players get completely demotivated, they were eagerly waiting for something positive, and it did arrive at the 33rd minute when Manvir Singh scored a solid left footed goal to make the scoreline 3-1.

Mohun Bagan started looking hopeful and kept pushing for a second before the first half whistle. However, the hattrick hero Edmund Lalrindika against the run of play scored the 4th goal for East Bengal putting them up 4-1 just before the half time whistle.

This was where the game actually ended as we did not see the Mohun Bagan players even turn up and compete for the title in the second half. The Durand Cup 2026 final ended with a scoreline of 4-1 in favour of East Bengal FC.

In this article we take a look at the players ratings from tonight’s Durand Cup 2026 final.

His first big save was from Liston Colaco’s freekick in the 20th minute. Gill’s second big impact came in the 39th minute, as he made a crucial tackle by coming out of his box to deal with a Mohun Bagan counter.

Jay Gupta – 6.5/10

Playing as the left wingback, Jay Gupta was also involved in East Bengal’s attack. He could have done better in defending Manvir Singh’s opening goal for Mohun Bagan.

The defender provided the assist for Edmund’s third goal of the night.

Sandip Mandi – 6.5/10

Primarily operated as a centre back, Sandip often pushed up the field to support East Bengal’s midfield. While Mandi didn’t stand out, he did what was necessary to help his side.

Anwar Ali – 7/10

Anwar was the backbone and a standout performer of East Bengal’s defence in the Durand Cup final.

He made crucial blocks, clearances, and tackles throughout the game that led his side to this crucial win.

Lalchungnunga – 6/10

The right centre back didn’t make any major mistakes in the defence and was a good partner to Anwar Ali. He and his teammates were able to keep Mohun Bagan at bay when the Mariners had more of the ball in the second half.

Hardik Bhatt – 7/10

Starting as the right wing back, Hardik Bhatt also helped his team in attack from his defensive responsibilities.

He played a crucial part in East Bengal’s third goal that was finished off by Edmund.

Dani Ramirez – 6.5/10

Dani Ramirez combined well with Hardik and provided the assist for Edmund’s second goal.

He combined well with Jeakson to boss the possession for East Bengal in the first half. He was substituted out in the 70th minute.

Jeakson Singh – 6/10

Jeakson was calm and composed on the ball, combining well with his teammates.

He was shown a yellow card for a strong tackle in the 60th minute. Jeakson did take a couple of shots from distance but they were off target.

Basim Rashid – 7.5/10

East Bengal’s captain played his part and helped his side on both ends of the pitch.

His first major contribution was an assist to Bipin Singh in the 10th minute that helped East Bengal break the shackles. Rashid’s smart freekick eventually resulted in his side’s fourth goal.

Bipin Singh – 8/10

Bipin scored East Bengal’s first goal, making a darting run through the heart of Mohun Bagan’s defence in the opening minutes.

The forward also won the ball that eventually led to his side’s third goal. He was substituted off in the 88th minute.

Edmund Lalrindika – 9/10

Edmund got on the scoresheet seconds after Bipin’s opener to make it 2-0 for East Bengal in the 12th minute. The attacker shifted the ball to his right foot and shot from outside the box, past an unwary Mariners’ backline.

The East Bengal player then combined well with Ramirez to score his second goal of the game in the 22nd minute before completing his hattrick in the 44th minute from a Jay Gupta pass.

He was substituted out in the 70th minute.

Substitutes

Jesin TK – 6/10

The Malappuram-based attacker was brought on for Edmund in the 70th minute. Jesin had a one-on-one chance minutes after coming on but fluffed his chance.

Mohammed Asif Khan – 5/10

The midfielder was brought on in the 70th minute as a replacement for Ramirez.

Rohit Danu – N/A

He came on as a substitute for Bipin Singh in the 88th minute.

Mohun Bagan SG Player Ratings

Vishal Kaith – 6.5/10

East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

Vishal Kaith who has won the golden glove in Durand Cup 2026 was not at his personal best tonight against East Bengal FC.

The goalkeeper did make some good saves especially a left footer from Bipin but still ended up conceding 4 goals.

While the defense should be held equally responsible, Vishal Kaith could have done better between the sticks.

Rahul Bheke – 6/10

East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

Rahul Bheke did not have a good game at all tonight against East Bengal FC.

The India international looked decent in the initial 10 minutes but once the floodgates opened, he was absolutely outclassed. He was slow to recover runs due to which the East Bengal FC players had plenty of space during counter attacks.

Subhasish Bose – 5.5/10

East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

The club captain Subhasish Bose looked absolutely out of touch tonight against East Bengal. Playing as a progressive left back, Bose was unable to contribute offensively.

He did not look comfortable defensively either with Edmund and Bipin outclassing him during the counterattacks.

Alberto Rodriguez – 6/10

East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

Alberto was poor at the back for Mohun Bagan SG alongside his centre back partner Rahul Bheke. Just like Rahul, Alberto lacked the pace to cover the counter attacks from East Bengal FC.

Much was expected from the experienced centre back but he lacked the quality tonight and had a poor outing.

Abhishek Tekcham – 7/10

East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

Abhishek Tekcham was decent for the Mariners operating as an offensive right back making runs moving forward.

However, he was wasteful going forward and even lacked the defensive solidity. But he was not the worst Mohun Bagan player on the pitch.

Apuia – 6/10

Apuia had a very bad outing tonight against East Bengal.

The midfielder was mainly operating as the third defensive partner with Alberto and Bheke when the Mariners were pushing forward. He initially had a good game but suddenly started making mistakes and looked completely put of place.

Anirudh Thapa – 6/10

East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

Anirudh Thapa looked completely out of place in the midfield for the Mariners and was almost lost in the midst of the game.

He was unable to operate smoothly in the midfield and was outclassed by Rashid and Jeakson.

Samir Zeljkovic – 6/10

Samir Zeljkovic was not operating at his best tonight and looked completely out of place in the midfield.

Samir was trying to play the number 10 role but failed to do so entirely, resulting in him getting subbed out after the first half.

Liston Colaco – 6.5/10

East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

Much was expected from the pacy winger moving into this clash; however, Liston was not operating comfortably on the flanks.

He lacked the accuracy to put balls in and even struggled to make impact in the penalty box. Apart from a couple of long rangers he could not do much in the game.

Manvir Singh – 6.5/10

Manvir Singh even after scoring a goal in the game looked very average entirely.

Manvir did not have the accuracy while crossing the balls and even lacked the finishing quality in front of the goal.

Jamie Maclaren – 5.5/10

East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Player Ratings: Edmund & Bipin shine in Durand Cup 2026 Final

Jamie Maclaren was among the worst performers tonight for Mohun Bagan as he failed to put any impact in the game.

The Australian striker looked a little unfit as well, maybe carrying an injury as he did not commit himself during 50-50 chances. All in all it was a poor outing for him.

Substitutes

Miguel Figueira – 5.5/10

Miguel Figueira who was the talk of the town before this final making the shift from East Bengal to Mohun Bagan looked awful against his former side East Bengal FC.

Miguel was subbed in at the half time break but lacked the intensity to put any impact in the game, perhaps still trying to adapt to his new team’s system.

Sahal Abdul Samad – 6/10

Sahal Abdul Samad who was the best player for the Mariners in the Durand Cup 2026 came off the bench in the second half.

However, he did not do much and even missed a very close chance which may have opened up the game if gone in.

Lallianzuala Chhangte – 6/10

Chhangte who made a record breaking move to Mohun Bagan this summer came off the bench in the second half but looked off.

It seemed like he still wasn’t fully fit and still trying to adapt to Dilmperis’ tactics.

Deepak Tangri – 5.5/10

Deepak Tangri came off the bench in the second half replacing Apuia. But Deepak’s inclusion in the second half did not make much sense that too while chasing a match being 3 goals down.

Kiyan Nassiri – 6/10

Kiyan Nassiri also came off the bench for the Mariners but did not leave a huge mark. He did have some good moments but overall lacked the awareness to impact the game
