Super Cup winners FC Goa to host Oman's Al Seeb for a place in ACL 2

The Gaurs will be eager to light up the Asian stage as they clash against Oman’s Al Seeb in a must-win preliminary round.

FC Goa have announced the squad that will lock horns with Al Seeb in the ACL 2 preliminary round clash on August 13, 2025, at the Fatorda. The Gaurs have been preparing hard for this must-win encounter as the qualification to the group stage is on the line.

Manolo Marquez, recently relieved from the Indian National Team managerial role, has decided to field a strong squad for the home fixture.

After a resounding success in the Kalinga Super that gave them a ticket to the preliminary round of the second-tier continental club competition, FC Goa would not want to take a step back and crash out before making their mark.

The fixture comes at a crucial time, both for the club and Indian Football, as the fans find themselves scarred with the ongoing havoc over the future of the Indian Super League (ISL). A win for FC Goa in this encounter would not only make things merry for their fans, but the whole Indian Football community would have something to cheer for.

The Gaurs have made some exciting signings before the next season. Manolo Marquez has picked some intriguing names as he looks to revitalise his team with reinforcements capable of taking the club to greater heights.

The club recently made five signings, including three foreign recruits, bolstering multiple aspects of their game. In the defense, Spaniard Pol Moreno has been brought from La Liga 2 club Racing Santander. The 31-year-old centre-back is the highlight of the business done by FC Goa this summer. His pairing with Sandesh Jhingan makes the Goan defense a seemingly impenetrable unit.

As expected from Marquez, he has heavily relied on Spanish players with another similar signing. David Timor will find his place in the defensive midfield. There’s another reinforcement in the midfield, but this one is relatively young. The young Indian midfield sensation, Harsh Patre, has been signed from Bengaluru FC.

Javier Siverio, a known name in Indian Football, has travelled from Jamshedpur to Goa before the start of the Asian campaign. Siverio will be expected to deliver with no time to adapt to the new setup. The stakes are high for the Gaurs, making it imperative for the Spanish striker to live up to the expectations.
