I-League 2024-25: Full updated squad of Gokulam Kerala
The Malabarians will look for a strong start under Antonio Rueda.
Gokulam Kerala FC, passionately representing the rich football legacy of Kerala, are all set to commence their I-League 2024-25 season, once again aiming to be one of the title contenders. The two-time I-League champions, built with the essence of Malabar, will be aiming to secure promotion to the premier division of Indian football, the Indian Super League (ISL), with a strong finish in the table.
The Kozhikode-based club has been a regular presence in the league since its inception in 2017. They have won the hearts of the passionate Malabar football community, making the EMS Stadium, located in the heart of Kozhikode, their home.
Since its inception, Gokulam Kerala FC has consistently built on success from its early days. They won their first silverware in 2019, lifting the Durand Cup under their Argentine manager Fernando Santiago Varela. They did not have to wait long for their next achievement, as they claimed their first-ever I-League title in the 2020-21 season. This triumph secured them a spot in the AFC Cup, marking their presence in Asian football as well.
The Malabarians inscribed their name into the Indian football history books by winning the I-League title in the 2021-22 season, becoming the first club in fifteen years to successfully defend a national league title. Their success extends to the local level as well, with a Kerala Premier League victory in 2020-21, establishing them as one of the most successful clubs in the state.

Despite still being in their early years, Gokulam Kerala FC has already made its mark by defeating some of Indian football’s biggest juggernauts, including storied clubs like Mohun Bagan SG, East Bengal FC, and Mohammedan SC, in competitive fixtures of high stakes. The Malabarians, quickly emerged as Kerala’s answer to India’s football powerhouses, upholding the state’s rich footballing culture and passion.
Gokulam Kerala FC are set to battle Sreenidhi Deccan FC in the I-League season opener. The Malabarians will not settle for anything less than three points in their first league game under their new gaffer Antonia Rueda.
