I-League 2024-25: Full updated squad of SC Bengaluru

The Golden Tigers will be aiming high once again in the second division of Indian football.

With the I-League 2024-25 season already underway from 22nd November 2024, new boys SC Bengaluru will face intense competition this season.

While the ultimate goal for each I-League team is securing promotion to the Indian Super League (ISL), the Golden Tigers have a mountain-like task on their hands. With Punjab FC and Mohammedan SC already charting the blueprint to make it to the ISL, the I-League 2 champions will be looking to make the ambitious leap.

The Golden Tigers have emerged as one of the young and hungry contenders in the I-League this season. Since their inception in 2022, the club has witnessed a meteoric rise on the Indian football ladder.

New boys SC Bengaluru are a special team

The club gained promotion to I-League 3 after winning the 2022-2023 BDFA Super Division title. The next year saw them earn automatic promotion into I-League 2 after capturing a top-three finish. Last season witnessed the Golden Tigers win the I-League 2 and will be looking to build on that achievement this year in the I-League.

A club firmly rooted in local talent representation, SC Bengaluru believes in progression through organic growth. Despite being financially weaker than some of the bigger clubs in the league this season, the club has shown lofty ambitions.

Under head coach Chinta Chandrashekhar, the club are sticking to their winning formula despite the step-up in competition. To fortify their defense, the club have recruited experienced defender Shankar Sampingiraj to help the younger members of the squad. They have also brought in former Inter Kashi attacking midfielder Jordan Lamela to strengthen their squad.

The Golden Tigers will be on the hunt

A young squad with the potential to spring surprises and cause upsets, the Golden Tigers are in a good position. The club has also retained other key players like Tangva Ragui, Salam Johnson Singh, and Krishnanda Singh ahead of a challenging campaign.

The club have made strategic signings this season as they embed themselves into the challenges of a rigorous schedule. While experienced campaigners will play a key role in tempering expectations, the youthful bounce and enthusiasm can lead to big things in the future for the Golden Tigers.

Under coach Chandrashekhar, SC Bengaluru will be eager and optimistic to make some noise in the I-League this season.
