ISL 2025-26: East Bengal FC rope in Danish striker Anton Søjberg

Søjberg arrives as the sixth foreigner of East Bengal FC in ISL
East Bengal FC have strengthened their squad for the ISL 2025–26 campaign with the signing of Danish striker Anton Søjberg. The 25-year-old arrives as the club’s sixth overseas addition this season and is set to don the jersey number 77.
Bringing energy, composure, and European experience into the final third, Søjberg is expected to add both depth and balance to the Red and Gold Brigade as they look to build a competitive unit for the new campaign.
Welcoming Søjberg to the squad, Mr Thangboi Singto, Head of Football at East Bengal FC said, “Anton brings the perfect blend of power, technique and hunger we need up front. We wish him all the best and hope he thrives in the East Bengal colors.”

Anton Søjberg brings much needed attacking depth

Søjberg joins the Red & Gold Brigade from American outfit Monterey Bay FC, bringing with him a wealth of experience from both Europe and North America.
The 25-year-old arrives in India after steadily building his career through the Danish youth system and testing himself across competitive leagues abroad.
He enjoyed top-flight exposure in the Faroe Islands with B36 Tórshavn, where he delivered an impressive 2024–25 campaign, registering 10 goals and five assists.
Søjberg then went on to compete in the USL Championship with Monterey Bay FC, adding further versatility and maturity to his game before making the move to East Bengal.
How does this move impact East Bengal FC?

Hailing from Denmark’s Aarhus, Søjberg is a powerful and versatile forward known for his physical presence, aerial ability, clinical finishing and work-rate in the final third. He brings a strong attacking presence in the final third and can be very crucial for East Bengal FC coming from the bench.
Anton can act as a super sub for East Bengal FC and can also compete with Ezzejjari for the place in the first XI.
