Churchill Brothers vs NorthEast United FC Player Ratings: Abdul Rabeeh shines, Sayad Kadir disappoint in ISL 2026-27 clash
Highlanders go top of the ISL table with win over Red Machines in Fatorda
The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa hosted the 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) fixture where home team Churchill Brothers locked horns with North East United FC.
The Highlanders went on to clinch a 2-0 win over the Red Machines to move atop the points table, leapfrogging Mohun Bagan. Despite Churchill Brothers starting the game strongly, it was North East who found the back of the net first after Ethyan Gonzalez made it 1-0.
Churchill fought tooth and nail to get that equaliser and Wayde Lekay and Sebastian came agonisingly close to scoring in many occasions. Moyano scored the second goal for the Highlanders and sealed the fate of the game as North East United FC won the match 2-0 to keep their unbeaten streak intact.
In this article, let us take a closer look at the player ratings for Churchill Brothers vs North East United FC.

Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere

Sayad Kadir – 4.5/10
It’s been four games and Churchill Brothers are yet to keep a clean sheet. Kadir made two saves tonight but he could have definitely done better to save that first goal from Ethyan Gonzalez. He also had his fingertips but couldn’t save the ball from crossing the goal line.
Anil Gaonkar – 6/10
Gaonkar was handed the captain’s armband after Kingslee left the field. Anil had some moments of brilliance while setting up Sebastian and Lekay upfront.
Joseph Okoro – 7/10
The Nigerian centre back was involved in too many heated affairs on the pitch and was brandished an early yellow card after a tussle with Satrustegui. Overall, he led the team well defensively as North East had relatively less shots and shots on target than the Red Machines.
Melroy Assisi – 7/10
Assisi completed the most touches tonight and and won three ground duels. He was a defensive pillar tonight but he lacked that recovery speed needed to track back strikers during counter attacking moments as the Churchill backline remained vacant.
Deny Singh – 5.5/10
A poor game from Deny who totally failed to get the better of Jithin MS. All attacks from the left flank were hardly intercepted or cleared and it was Jithin, who outplayed Deny in the flanks.
Dramane Salou – 6/10
A decent game in the centre of the park for the Burkina Faso midfielder who created a chance. It was never easy facing Moyano and Mayakkannan in the midfield but Salou kept the ball going when Churchill were trailing.
Kingslee Fernandes – 5/10
The captain had a game to forget tonight. His mistake led to the build up to the first goal as Ajaraie accelerated to pass the ball to Jithin who gave an brilliant cross as Gonzalez found the back of the net to help the Highlanders make it 1-0
Vincy Barretto – 6/10

A not so optimistic game for the fast paced Goan winger, who was well marked by Rabeeh. He got dispossessed too easily and hardly created chances from the right flank.
Sebastian Gutierrez – 7.5/10
The Colombian attacking midfielder came very close from scoring on a lot of occasions but missed the target by few centimeters. He created the most chances upfront tonight and also completed the most dribbles by any player tonight.
Phijam Sanathoi – 6/10
A decent outing from Sanathoi, who could have showed more attacking flair from the flanks.
Wayde Lekay – 7/10
The South African striker had too many chances to shoot and score but looked a lot underconfident tonight. Instead of going for the goal himself, he was seen passing the ball to his Colombian teammate and that lack of proper decision making in the final third costed Churchill a lot.
Substitutes:
Angousana Luwang – 6/10
Luwang had one of the best chances of the evening after a rebound save from Gurmeet landed onto his feet but his first touch was pretty poor as the Goan side missed an easy chance.
Stendly Fernandes – 5.5/10
A very disappointing performance from Stendly as his presence hardly brought any renewed sense of purpose in the midfield and he took one shot, that was off target.
John Okoli – 6/10
Okoli was brought in as an attacking reinforcement after Gutierrez was subbed off. But there was hardly any attacking instinct and instead North East scored the winner by making it 2-0
Gaurav Bora – 6/10
Bora was brought in too late to make any impact in the game.
NorthEast United FC player ratings (By Yash)

Redeem returned to the starting XI and made ten defensive contributions. He had four clearances, three interceptions and two tackles while winning the majority of his ground duels.

Eneko completed 30/34 passes tonight and looked very good with his ball distributed. He saved the day for the Highlanders with a brilliant save off the line and recorded two ball recoveries as well.
Pramveer Singh – 7.5/10

Pramveer continues to shine at the back for the Highlanders. The young defender made 12 defensive contributions, including 11 clearances and one tackle. He won the majority of his ground and aerial duels and kept things tight at the back.
Abdul Rabeeh – 7.5/10
Another day, another Abdul Rabeeh masterclass. Rabeeh completed four tackles along with seven ball recoveries. He made bombing runs forward into the box and set up Antonio Moyano for the second goal with a brilliant assist.
Mayakkannan – 6.5/10
Mayakkannan did not have a great outing in the middle of the park. He made five clearances and two ball recoveries while maintaining a below par passing average of 68%.
Antonio Moyano – 8.5/10
Antonio Moyano was the star performer for NorthEast United this evening. The attacking midfielder scored a beautiful goal in stoppage time and sealed the game for the Highlanders. Moyano won the ball in crucial positions and even executed one key pass.
Jithin MS – 8/10
Jithin continued to shine for the Highlanders. He used his pace to exploit the gaps and create trouble for the opposition defenders. Jithin created one big chance and executed three key passes which also helped him rack up an assist.
Macarton Nickson – 6.5/10
Macarton also did not have a good outing in comparison to his standards. He was mostly quiet and did not have much of a role to play. The midfielder made four recoveries and one defensive contribution.
Alaeddine Ajaraie – 6.5/10
Ajaraie was kept at bay by Churchill Brothers. He could not unleash his true potential and was in check by the opposition defenders. However, he did manage to jailbreak once and executed a key pass in the process.
Ethyan Gonzalez – 8/10

Ethyan scored his debut Indian Super League (ISL) goal for the Highlanders with just 18 minutes on the clock. He was positioned perfectly inside the box and he made no mistake in putting it away with a right footed shot.
