FC Goa vs Bengaluru FC Player Ratings: Soham & Borja Martinez shine, Alex Zalaya disappoint in ISL 2026-27 clash
Soham Varshneya becomes a super-sub as Blues snatch thrilling late winner in Fatorda
The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa hosted the 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) fixture where home team FC Goa locked horns with Bengaluru FC in a thrilling contest on 6th November.
The game began in fast paced tone and it took the Blues just 12 minutes to break the deadlock, courtesy of a goal from Borja Martinez, whose left footed shot from outside the box hit the bottom right corner. The assist was given by Fanai as the Blues led 1-0
However, it took less than five minutes for the Gaurs to equalise. Another shot from outside the box from the Argentine Franchu saw the scores being level at 1-1. The game was heading for a draw but Bengaluru FC’s Soham Varshneya scored his first goal in Bengaluru FC colours in stoppage time to win it 2-1 for the Blues.
In this article, we will take a closer look at the player ratings from the ISL match, FC Goa vs Bengaluru FC.
FC Goa Player Ratings (By Saikat Sengupta)
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
Bob Raj – 5/10
The custodian made three saves inside the box. He couldn’t have done much to save the first goal but he again failed to keep a clean sheet as Goa succumbed to their first defeat of the evening.
Udanta Singh – 6/10
Udanta had the joint most touches in the game. But he was completely beaten by Ashique Kuruniyan in the build up to the second goal as Soham scored the winner in the dying seconds.
Sandesh Jhinghan – 6.5/10
Jhinghan was brilliant aerially, making four headed clearances, a block and a tackle too. However, his marking and positioning was questionable in both the goals Goa conceded tonight.
Alex Zalaya – 5/10
A tough day at work for the Spaniard as he was seen leaving his position as Goa tried to keep a high defensive line in the game. In the build up to the first goal, he left his territory open for the Bengaluru FC to expose the defensive vulnerabilities.
Akash Singh – 6.5/10
Akash was often hugging the touchline tonight. Taking a look at his heat map, we find out that his work rate was impressive as he was setting up Isak upfront.
Alex Vallejo – 6.5/10

A pat on the back to the Spaniard, who was often seen tracking back and helping the back four when they Bengaluru FC players were left unmarked. He could have done better to stop Borja take a free shot.
Tomba Singh – 6.5/10
A decent outing from Tomba, who anchored the midfield well for the Gaurs tonight.
Muhammed Nemil – 7.5/10
Nemil was a menace in the right flank with his accelerated runs into the final third. He snatched the ball to give an assist to Franchu that saw Goa making the scores level 1-1.
Franchu – 8/10

Franchu scored a brilliant goal to put Goa level, five minutes after Borja broke the deadlock for the Blues. The Argentine was one of the best player for the Gaurs tonight. He had one shot on target tonight.
Isak Vanlalruatfela – 5.5/10
A disappointing game for the winger, who failed to create chance or make use of his acceleration. He was subbed off early in the 46th minute after a poor game.
Chiki – 6.5/10
The Spaniard, who has been the best player for the Gaurs tonight was not upto the mark. He failed to have a single shot on target tonight as the Gaurs looked bleak upfront.
Substitutes:
Prachit Gaonkar – 6/10
Prachit was brought in early and he had over 40 minutes to make an impact. But he failed to make any impact and his solitary shot went off target.
KC Malsawmsanga – 6.5/10
KC Malsawmsanga was brandished a yellow card after coming on near the hour mark. From being a starter to coming on as a sub, he had a decent game
Sitroy Carvalho – 6/10
He came on to replace Franchu in the 67th minute but failed to make much of an impact.
Jorge Ortiz – 6.5/10
For a player of Ortiz’s quality, even a few minutes are enough to make a difference. But apart from winning fouls and taking set pieces, Ortiz did not create much chances.
Bengaluru FC Player Ratings (By Jeremy)
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu: 7/10
Little he could have done about Franchu’s strike from outside the box. His best moment was the 48th-minute save from Nemil, which kept the game level when Goa began the second half with momentum. He was composed and was never beaten by anything he should have stopped.
Chinglensana Singh: 7/10
Solid at the back and a real threat at set pieces. His header from Ryan Williams’ corner in the 85th minute went just wide of the left post and came close to being the winner. Goa’s chances were mostly from range, which suggests he and his partner kept the box largely clear.
Menno Koch: 6.5/10
Little individual action was recorded, which is not an indictment for a centre-back. Goa’s only goal came from distance rather than a breakdown in the box.
Manuel de Iriondo: 6/10
Tried his luck early with a long-range effort in the 6th minute that went wide, then picked up a yellow card later on. Booked players in midfield or defence always carry risk, and this one is a mark against him in what was a tight game.
Sandro Embalo: 6.5/10
There is no specific incident in the game to be recalled, so this is a baseline rating for an unremarkable but untroubled evening. He was replaced by Roshan Singh late on.
Borja Martínez: 8/10

Decisive early. He tested Bob Jackson from the centre of the box in the 8th minute and then scored four minutes later with a left-footed finish from outside the area into the bottom-right corner. He was taken off for Ashique Kuruniyan in the second half, so his influence faded after the break.
Ryan Williams: 7.5/10

Bengaluru FC’s most consistent attacking outlet. He forced a save in the 9th minute, shot from a tight angle in the 41st, delivered the corner that found Chinglensana in the 85th, and tested Jackson again at 90+1′. His only shortfall was end product, as nothing he took on himself went in.
Sunil Chhetri: 6/0
His first start of the season, and he was withdrawn after the break for Perovic. The feed records no shot or key pass from him, so the rating reflects limited visible impact rather than poor play. Judge him on the fuller data.
Ricky Meetei: 6.5/10

Active early, with a long-range effort in the 2nd minute and the pass for Williams’ 9th-minute chance. A yellow card for a bad foul in the second half costs him half a point.
Fanai: 6/10
Fanai was unable to make a real impact on the game for Bengaluru FC.
Suresh Singh Wangjam: 6
Replaced by Soham Varshneya before half-time. The player had to be pulled out because of an injury.
Substitutes
Soham Varshneya: 8.5/10
Match-winner. He entered before the break and finished the stoppage-time chance left-footed into the bottom-left corner, which was decisive and calm. Of all the changes, this one paid off most visibly.
Ashique Kuruniyan: 8/10
Provided both the assist for Soham’s winner and the setup for Williams’ 90+1′ shot, so he was involved in Bengaluru FC’s two best late chances. He was booked in the aftermath of the goal, which is forgivable. The impact on the late shape of the team was real.
Perovic: 6/10
Replaced Chhetri. No specific contribution that changed the course of the game, which is why he has been given a neutral rating.
Roshan Singh: 6/10
Replaced Sandro Embalo late, with the job of seeing out the game. No incident recorded.
