Three East Bengal players who can benefit from Lukasz Zwolinski's arrival

The Red & Gold have strengthened their attack with Lukasz.

East Bengal have added more firepower to their attacking force for the 2026-27 campaign with the signing of Lukasz Zwolinski on a one-year deal.

With the Red & Gold Brigade competing across multiple fronts this season, including defending their Indian Super League (ISL) title and also competing in the AFC Champions League Two, they need a strong foreign core to be able to threaten their opponents.

That is why Antonio Habas green-lit the signing of the Polish striker, who arrives at East Bengal with a wealth of experience behind him. Zwolinski has nearly 250 appearances in the Polish Ekstraklasa (top division) and has played in the UEFA Europa League in his career as well.

He has been brought to East Bengal to strengthen their goal threat and also be an overall thorn for their defenders as well.

However, for him to be a success story at the club, the 33-year-old striker will need to form impressive chemistry with his teammates. He needs to work hard to understand the playing styles of his fellow attacking players to recognise their patterns and adapt his style accordingly.

Here, we look at the three East Bengal players who can benefit from the arrival of Lukasz Zwolinski.

Mohammed Rashid

Rashid can form a good partnership with Zwolinski.

Mohammed Rashid might’ve been brought aboard as a defensive midfielder for East Bengal, but he’s now transformed himself into someone who constantly looks to contribute to the attack as well. The Palestinian midfielder is being afforded more room to make forward runs under Habas, which allowed him to shine in the ACL Two qualifier against Al-Arabi SC.

Rashid is likely to be a clever creative option for the East Bengal attack, and he will probably look to form a nice intuitive bond with the Polish striker.

Rashid has a good range of passes in his arsenal, meaning he can swing in inviting crosses into the box and also send forwards through on goal with his accurate forward passes. He’ll probably look to seek out the movement of Zwolinski on the attack, trying to feed the ball into his path in key areas.

The 33-year-old striker’s proactive presence and ability to pounce on chances should help benefit Rashid, who is likely to see his final delivery justified in a better way in the East Bengal attack going forward.

PV Vishnu

PV Vishnu
Zwolinski can uplift the overall play of PV Vishnu.

PV Vishnu has already had a pretty good start under Antonio Habas’s reign at East Bengal, being able to score a number of notable goals in their 2026 Durand Cup-winning campaign. While the Indian winger will be expected to notch up more goals for the Torchbearers in the 2026-27 season, he remains one of their most unique creative threats through the wide areas.

Vishnu has proven himself as someone who loves taking on defenders, making clever runs through the left wing to get into promising situations.

He will look to be a player to feed chances to the new Polish striker, and can actually really enjoy playing alongside the 33-year-old as well. Indeed, Vishnu should be able to benefit from Zwolinski’s unpredictable presence inside the box and the Polish striker’s ability to get into the right places at the right times.

That means the Indian winger’s inviting crosses will probably be met with more accuracy inside the box, as Vishnu will be encouraged to deliver more passes into the box – knowing that the 33-year-old striker can finish them off efficiently.

Dani Ramirez

The Dani Ramirez and Zwolinski duo will be key for East Bengal.

Dani Ramirez has been roped in at East Bengal to be their No. 10 for the 2026-27 season, meaning there will be a lot of creative responsibilities piled onto him! The Spanish midfielder has had a pretty good start with the Kolkata giants, even scoring in their ACL Two opener against Al-Hussein, and he looks poised to take up more creative burden as well.

Ramirez will probably benefit from the arrival of an energetic presence up front for East Bengal in Zwolinski, who will work hard to create a solid partnership with the Spaniard.

Dani will look to be clever with the link-up play with the 33-year-old striker, playing clever passes with him to help progress East Bengal’s attacking moves in a swift fashion. However, the Spanish midfielder will need to be clever in tracking Zwolinski’s movement and be able to slip in clever passes for him inside the box.

If able to do so with regularity, this combination of Ramirez and Zwolinski can be a thorn for opponents and help create many special moments for East Bengal in the 2026-27 season.

Who is Lukasz Zwolinski?

Which East Bengal players could benefit from Lukasz Zwolinski’s arrival?

Mohammed Rashid, PV Vishnu and Dani Ramirez could benefit from Zwolinski’s presence. Their passing, crossing and creative movement could complement the Polish striker’s positioning and finishing ability.
