The Red Miners secured their second victory of the campaign after getting the better of the Islanders.

Khalid Jamil’s Jamshedpur FC is back in the spotlight after securing their second victory of the Indian, defeating defending ISL champions Mumbai City FC on home turf. Despite conceding first once again, the Men of Steel mounted a historic comeback, netting three goals to claim all three points against the formidable Mumbai City squad.

Their resilient performance ignited celebrations among the Red Miners faithful, who erupted in jubilation at the Furnace. Jamshedpur FC will now be looking to carry this exceptional form into their next fixture against Odisha FC in Bhubaneswar, as they aim to extend their winning streak.

Jamshedpur FC (By Saikat Sengupta)

Albino Gomes – 7.5

After a horrible debut for Jamshedpur FC in their previous fixture against FC Goa, Albino responded strongly. Facing one of the best attacking sides in the competition is never an easy task, but the shotstopper’s reflexes and crucial saves ensured that the home side grabbed all three points against the Islanders.

Ashutosh Mehta – 7.5

Ashutosh Mehta’s presence has ignited the flanks for the Red Miners. He is omnipresent in the pitch throughout the entirety of ninety minutes. From taking those headed shots during set pieces to safeguarding the defence, Mehta has been brilliant in both matches for Jamshedpur so far this season.

Pratik Chaudhari – 7.0

Pratik has been combining very well with the big man from Nigeria, Steven Eze, in the heart of Jamshedpur’s defence. His no-nonsense defending and important clearances ensured that the Men of Steel’s backline remained impenetrable even against the mighty Islanders, conceding just two goals in 19 shots.

Muhammed Uvais – 9.0

Unarguably the best Indian player in the match tonight, Uvais was absolutely outstanding. He unleashed his inner beast and single-handedly dominated the left flank of the pitch. Despite conceding a goal first, Uvais’s overlapping runs ensured Jamshedpur have plenty of chances to convert them into goals.

Imran Khan – 8.5

Imran has been the trump card for Khalid Jamil. He was sublime with his touches and passes. His performances so far in the Durand Cup and ISL have made him one of the strong contenders to make it to Manolo Marquez’s national team squad.

Sourav Das – 7.0

Filling in the boots of a player like Pronay Halder is never an easy task, especially when stepping into the pressure of a home game. However, Sourav Das has made the transition look effortless, even in his first season for Jamshedpur FC. Slotting seamlessly into Khalid Jamil’s setup, Das has been instrumental in controlling the midfield, showcasing composure and maturity. His influence was evident throughout the match, helping Jamshedpur maintain control and dictate the pace.

Mohammed Sanan – 7.5

A product of the Reliance Football Development League, Mohamed Sanan has quickly made a name for himself after signing a long-term contract with Jamshedpur FC. Sanan has carried his impressive form in the Durand Cup into the ISL, emerging as one of Jamshedpur’s top performers in both of their matches. His ability to create chances, contribute to crucial goals, and provide key assists has made him an invaluable asset to the team.

Substitutes

Seminlen Doungel – 8.0

Len Doungel was introduced early in the second half, replacing Mohamed Sanan, and immediately made his presence felt. Doungel’s pace and attacking flair were evident as he made several long runs down the left flank, stretching the opposition’s defense. His impact was key in the build-up to Jamshedpur FC’s third goal, showcasing his vision and attacking instincts.

Aniket Jadhav – 7.0

Though Aniket Jadhav didn’t get much game time tonight, he made a noticeable impact during his brief spell on the pitch. His agility and sharpness were on full display as he executed counter-attacking runs just when Mumbai City FC were pushing hard for an equalizer in the last 15 minutes.

Mumbai City FC (by Rutvij Joshi)

Phurba Lachenpa – 6.0

Phurba looked confused in the entire game getting caught in two minds too often and with miscommunication affecting his decision-making, it all culminated in Mumbai conceding two goals.

Valpuia – 6.0

Valpuia was the pick of the defenders for Mumbai City. With Chhangte’s lack of defensive work, he was exposed to a 2v1 situation which led to a third goal for Jamshedpur.

Mehtab Singh – 4.5

Mehtab started the game as a center-back but often finished second in winning his aerial duels in which frequently led to defensive lapses and eventually two goals for the home side.

Sahil Panwar – 4.0

Sahil Panwar was the poorest player for Mumbai City FC. Imran Khan toyed with Sahil on the left-hand side and whipped in crosses for Jamshedpur strikers to attack. Looking at his vulnerable state in the fixture he was substituted in the 53rd minute.

Jayesh Rane – 6.0

Jayesh was a tireless workhorse in the middle of the park but three goals in a short period meant the Islanders needed to strike back. Rane was subsequently substituted for Brandon Fernandes.

Bipin Singh – 6.0

Bipin was lively in the first few minutes of the first half. However, as the game’s momentum changed, Bipin was unable to help his fullback defensively, and in need of new pace and exuberance, he was substituted for Noufal.

Lallianzuala Chhangte – 6.0

Chhangte was unable to influence the game from the right as he was often dispossessed by Jamshedpur FC left-back Uvais.

Substitutions

Brandon Fernandes – 7.0

Brandon showed his quality after coming into the game as he tried his best to find the forward players in a bid to score goals.

Noufal – 7.0

Noufal was lively alongside the left-hand side and tried to threaten Ashutosh Mehta with his pace and his ability to cut back.

Vikram Pratap Singh – 6.0

Vikram occupied the right wing ever since coming on, trying to limit Uvais’s forward movement and pin him in the defensive half only but unfortunately, his efforts did not yield any goals.

Sanjiv Stalin – N/A
