ISL: Most goals scored by an individual in an season

ISL has witnessed some elite marksmen in front of goal over the years.
The Indian Super League (ISL) has seen some of the best goal-scoring talents leave their mark on the competition. While delivering outstanding individual performances over the years, these players have left a lasting legacy in the minds of the clubs and their fans.
The role of a striker in the modern game has never been more significant, and these players made a name for themselves during their time in the ISL. Whether it was a bullet header from a set piece or a scintillating individual run, these strikers wreaked havoc on defenders, who seemed clueless.
Here, we look at the top five players who finished with the most goals in a single ISL season:
5. Bartholomew Ogbeche – 15 goals [Kerala Blasters (2019-2020)]
A lethal finisher, Bartholomew Ogbeche is one of the most consistent strikers to ever play in the league. He made a name for himself with an exciting display of attacking talent during the 2019-2020 season. The Nigerian forward netted 15 goals, and played a crucial role for the Tuskers.
His clinical finishing and ability to score from tight spaces made him a nightmare for defenders. Despite his individual brilliance, while the Blasters fell short of the playoffs, the Nigerian striker’s season remained one to remember.
4. Ferran Corominas – 15 goals [FC Goa (2018-2019)]
The Spanish striker, fondly known as Coro, was yet another No. 9 who torched up defences during his time with FC Goa. During the 2018-2019 ISL season, he recorded an impressive tally of 15 goals while leading FC Goa to the ISL final, where they lost a close 1-0 game after extra time to Bengaluru FC.
The Spaniard’s intelligence, his movement in the box, and precise finishing helped FC Goa dominate opponents in games. He was a key figure in their attacking style of play and had that traditional instinct of a poacher. Though Goa fell short in the final hurdle, Coro cemented his status as one of ISL’s greatest forwards following the 2018-2019 season.
3. Bartholomew Ogbeche – 17 goals [Hyderabad FC (2021-2022)]

The Nigerian striker makes another appearance on this list, this time for his sensational 2021-2022 ISL campaign with Hyderabad FC. While finding the net 17 times in 17 games, Ogbeche proved once again why he is one of the best strikers in the league’s history.
His goals played a pivotal role in Hyderabad FC making it all the way to their maiden ISL final. His quality and ability to bring other teammates into play helped the club capture their first-ever ISL title. While showcasing his ability to perform under pressure, the Nigerian showed leadership and a knack for scoring and being in the right place at the right time.
2. Ferran Corominas – 18 goals [FC Goa (2017-2018)]

Making his second appearance on the list is Corominas, who set a new benchmark for goal-scoring in the ISL during the 2017-2018 campaign. While playing for the Gaurs, the Spaniard bagged 18 goals and five assists in 18 regular season games.
Finishing as the league’s top scorer and spearheading one of the most fearsome attacking units in ISL history, Coro made an instant impact for his side. The Spaniard’s combination of technical brilliance and composure in front of goal made him a standout performer in every game. Before the ongoing 2024-2025 season, Coro’s impressive season was arguably the best individual campaign by a striker in ISL history.
1. Alaeddine Ajaraie – 20 goals [NorthEast United FC (2024-2025)]

Topping the charts, however, is NorthEast United FC striker Alaeddine Ajaraie. He set a new record with 20 goals in 21 appearances during the 2024-2025 ISL season. The Moroccan forward delivered an extraordinary campaign, breaking past defences with ease and finishing with remarkable accuracy.
His goal-scoring spree helped his team achieve significant success, and now the Moroccan holds the distinction of scoring the most goals in a single ISL season. Ajaraie’s feat is a testament to his exceptional talent and impact on Indian football. As he continues to score with each passing game, the Highlanders will be hoping for more of the same as they look forward to the ISL playoffs.
