India’s most valuable XI features six players from Mohun Bagan’s ISL double-winning side

The 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season has wrapped up, and with it comes a fresh look at the league’s most valuable Indian players. As per the data of Transfermarkt, we’ve put together the highest-valued Indian XI based on market worth at the end of the season.

This eleven highlights the top-performing Indian talents who’ve made an impact and hence have seen their market value soar. From seasoned defenders to emerging forwards, these are the players leading the way in Indian football.

Vishal Kaith – 2.4 crores

The Mohun Bagan Super Giant goalkeeper won the ISL Golden Glove enroute to helping his side win both the ISL Shield and the Cup this season. Vishal Kaith kept a total of 15 clean sheets in 26 league games and this has also earned him the number one spot in the Indian national football team.

Subhasish Bose – 2.6 crores

The veteran defender had a season to remember, scoring six goals aside from his regular duty as a left back. In his 25 league games, Subhashish made 48 interceptions and won 44 tackles. The Mohun Bagan player also created 20 chances and assisted one goal in the 2024-25 ISL season.

Sandesh Jhingan – 2.4 crores

Having returned from an ACL injury, Sandesh Jhingan turned the fortunes of FC Goa, who were struggling to keep clean sheets. The experienced centre back won 64 duels, kept 22 interceptions, and significantly improved Goa’s defence as they finished second in the league season.

Anwar Ali – 2.4 crores

The youngster made an unpopular choice before the start of the season to move from Mohun Bagan to East Bengal. Anwar Ali made 22 interceptions and kept 5 clean sheets in the campaign, failing to match his numbers from the 2023-24 season.

Nikhil Poojary – 2.4 crores

The Bengaluru FC defender played a vital part in his team’s run to the playoffs, keeping 5 clean sheets in the 17 ISL games that he played. Nikhil’s absence was felt by the Blues in the knockout stage as the defender was unavailable due an injury that he picked up in February.

Apuia – 2.8 crores

Lalengmawia Ralte, better known as Apuia to Indian football fans, was arguably one of the best buys for Mohun Bagan this season. The former Mumbai City midfielder made 22 appearances and was a tank in the Mariners’ midfield with a 83% pass success rate and 133 recoveries.

Apuia also scored a match-winning wonderstrike in the semifinals against Jamshedpur to take his side to the summit clash, where they won the ISL Cup against Bengaluru FC.

Suresh Wangjam – 2.2 crores

The 24-year-old made 26 appearances for Bengaluru FC, scoring two league goals and providing two assists to his teammates. Suresh Wangjam was vital for the club, making 98 recoveries and winning 73 duels in the course of the season, helping his side to the ISL Final.

Sahal Abdul Samad – 2.2 crores

Constant niggles meant that Sahal Abdul Samad only started 9 of the 19 games that he played in the ISL this season. However the Mohun Bagan midfielder did win 59 duels and score one goal for his side in the league.

Liston Colaco – 2.8 crores

The 26-year-old scored 3 goals and gave 2 assists to his teammates in Mohun Bagan colours this season. Liston Colaco caused a lot of problems on the wings courtesy of his pace. In 27 league games, the winger completed 44 dribbles and created 29 chances for his side, in what was a great season for the player.

Lallianzuala Chhangte – 2.8 crores

Lallianzuala Chhangte didn’t enjoy the best of seasons, when compared to his lofty standards. The Mumbai City FC captain scored 6 goals and registered 2 assists in 24 ISL games. The Mizo-Flash helped his team to the playoffs, however, the defending champions were humiliated by Bengaluru FC and knocked out of the competition.

Manvir Singh – 2.8 crores

Mohun Bagan’s number 11 had a good season where he created 26 chances from the wings, resulting in 4 assists. Manvir Singh’s 5 goals and 96 recoveries proved invaluable as he was one of the best Indian attackers in the league this season.
