Mohun Bagan got back to winning ways with a dominant performance.

Jamshedpur FC returned to winning ways in the Indian Super League (ISL) and destroyed East Bengal FC to get their third win of the season.

The Red Miners started strong with Rei Taqchikawa scoring the opening goals in the first half before Lalchungnunga scored an own goal and doubled the home side’s advantage. Following this result, East Bengal have now lost their fourth consecutive game in the league.

In the second match, Mohun Bagan secured the bragging rights by defeating Mohammedan SC in the Mini Kolkata derby.

The Mariners started the game on the front foot and were given an early lead by their latest import Jamie MacLaren inside the first ten minutes. Subhasish Bose scored the second goal before Greg Stewart tripled the lead for the home side and put the game to bed.

A brief look at the points table

Bengaluru FC maintained their position at the top of the summit with ten points in their opening four games. Punjab FC are still placed second while Jamshedpur FC have strengthened their place at the third spot following today’s win over East Bengal. Mohun Bagan have jumped up to the fourth position and FC Goa have dropped down to the fifth position.

NorthEast United have slipped down to the sixth position and Kerala Blasters FC have come down to the seventh spot. Chennaiyin FC hold the eighth position and Odisha FC are placed ninth. Mohammedan SC are now ranked tenth. Mumbai City FC and Hyderabad FC are still placed eleventh and twelfth respectively while East Bengal continues to be at the bottom of the table.
