Kerala Blasters aim to continue their winning ways against the Highlanders.

Kerala Blasters are running riot in the league, in stunning form after back-to-back victories against Punjab FC and Odisha FC. As the Tuskers prepare to take on NorthEast United at home in their next encounter of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season, interim coach TG Purushothaman shares his insights and concerns about the club.

TG Purushothaman, commenting on his side’s preparations ahead of the upcoming clash, stated, “The confidence level is very high, and we must maintain our team spirit. Whatever we have achieved, we need to sustain it. We’re focused on that, and hopefully, we continue with the same team spirit and tempo on the field.”

“We are all in this together, bonding as a team and playing for each other. It’s great teamwork. We know how to handle different situations, and hopefully, we’ll continue to get the results. We need to maintain this momentum. If we stick together, we can achieve it,” the gaffer added.

Kerala Blasters face some serious issues with ground condition

Kerala Blasters faced a peculiar situation as the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium pitch had previously been used for a dance event, where over 12,000 Bharatanatyam dancers performed in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record. However, this event appears to have caused significant damage to the turf, which was built to league standards, with reports suggesting that even vehicles were driven across the field.

TG Purushothaman, sharing his concerns about the pitch, said, “The condition of the ground is evident. It’s very difficult to cope with all the situations and play on a ground like this while avoiding injuries. Injuries are the most important thing to avoid. We are working through it, and luckily, in the last match, nobody was injured. Hopefully, in the next match, we will overcome all the injuries and not face similar issues. It’s quite pathetic that we have these odd situations to face.”
