ISL: Top five clubs with most wins in history

Mumbai City became the first club to register 100 wins in the ISL
In the last eleven years, we have seen quite a few memorable moments in the Indian Super League. Clubs like ATK, Chennaiyin FC, and FC Goa dominated the first few seasons.
However, fast forward to the 2020’s, Mumbai City and Mohun Bagan have now become the teams to beat on the pitch. While these two clubs have been dominant in recent years, some other ISL teams have also left a lasting legacy with their winning culture.
Here are the top five clubs with the most wins in ISL history.
1. Mumbai City FC – 100 wins

The Islanders became the first team to get to 100 wins earlier this month, courtesy of their 2-0 win over NorthEast United. Mumbai City have an impressive record of picking up 100 ISL wins in 211 games with a win percentage of 47.39%
Most of Mumbai City FC’s success has been in recent seasons as the side from the West Coast has won two ISL titles and two Shields post-2020. Will Peter Kratky’s side become the first club to reach 150 ISL wins in the future? Only time will tell!
2. FC Goa – 96 wins
Following closely on Mumbai City FC’s heels are their West Coast Rivals, FC Goa who have picked up 96 wins in 216 league games. The Gaurs have a win percentage of 44.44% and they also have a League Shield to their name.
Currently being managed by Manolo Marquez, they have arguably been the most consistent team since its inception, having reached the playoffs a record nine times. However, FC Goa have had bad luck in the finals, losing both the times they made it to the ultimate game.
3. Bengaluru FC – 77 wins

Bengaluru FC joined the ISL bandwagon in 2017 and instantly became a force to be reckoned with. The Blues found a lot of success initially with Albert Roca and Carles Cuadrat, winning the ISL Cup in 2019 and overall reaching the final thrice.
The Southern giants have 77 wins in 170 games to their name with a win percentage of 45.29%. Bengaluru FC have qualified once again this season and it won’t be a surprise if they go all the way and add another ISL Cup to their name this season.
4. Odisha FC- 70 wins
The Juggernauts have also come good in recent years and have proved themselves to be a winning machine in recent years. Under coaches Sergio Lobera and Gianluca Zambrotta, Odisha proved themselves to be a force as they finished high up in the league table.
The team from Bhubaneshwar have managed 70 wins in 208 games with a win percentage of 33.65%. Odisha FC find themselves in a tough situation with only three points separating them from the final playoff spot. With two games remaining in their season, each win will only add to their winning legacy.
5. Chennaiyin FC – 70 wins
Moving from one Southern giant to another, Chennaiyin FC take the fourth spot in this list with 70 wins from 211 ISL games. While the Marina Machans were the team to beat in the first four seasons, their success rate has fallen off in recent years leaving them with a win percentage of 33.17%.
Chennaiyin FC have two ISL titles to their name and have made it to five playoffs and three ISL finals overall. Currently being managed by Owen Coyle, the Marina Machans are in the midst of another disappointing season.
While CFC have shown glimpses of brilliance, consistency is something that they need to work on to get back to the top.
