Many Indian players impressed in the ISL gameweek 15.

The Indian Super League (ISL) successfully wrapped up its first game week of 2025 and what a start it has been. Mohun Bagan continued their dominant run and strengthened their lead at the top of the table after hammering Hyderabad FC at home. Mohammedan SC put up a motivating performance and managed to keep NorthEast United at bay and came away with a point from Guwahati.

FC Goa thrashed Odisha FC 4-2 on the road and sent a statement of intent across the league. Jamshedpur FC bounced back and pulled off a win from behind against Bengaluru FC in the dying minutes of injury time. Kerala Blasters settled for a 0-1 win against Punjab FC in Delhi before Mumbai City FC handed East Bengal a heartbreaking defeat with a late injury-time winner.

On that note, let us take a look at Khel Now’s team of the week for game week 15.

Formation: 4-4-2

Vishal Kaith stood out among all the goalkeepers this week. He not only maintained a clean sheet, but also helped Mohun Bagan pull off a victory with his heroics under the bar. The Indian international is leading the race for the Golden Glove and is expected to win it. His clean sheet against Hyderabad FC was his seventh clean sheet of the 2024-25 season. Additionally, he pulled off seven saves, including three from inside the box.

RB – Redeem Tlang (NorthEast United FC)

Redeem Tlang has become the latest winger who has been perfectly tuned as a full-back. Tlang put up a wonderful display this week and kept things very tight at the back. It just didn’t seem that he was new to the right-back position and is now expected to be Juan Pedro Benali’s first choice. The 29-year-old won 10/11 ground duels and all of his aerial duels while making four tackles, three clearances and one interception.

CB – Florent Ogier (Mohammedan SC)

Florent Ogier put together his best performance of the season against NorthEast United and kept their attacking unit at bay. The Frenchman stood tall like a wall in the heart of Mohammedan SC’s backline and showed resilience and composure. Ogier made eight clearances, five blocks and two tackles while winning the majority of his aerial and ground duels. He also maintained a passing accuracy of 81%.

CB – Mehtab Singh (Mumbai City FC)

Mehtab Singh was the best Indian centre-back this week. He continues to shine at the back for Mumbai City FC with his consistent and impactful performances. Singh made 11 clearances, the most by any defender this week along with two blocks. He won all of his aerial duels and completed 11/16 long balls. Moreover, he executed 52/60 passes to perfection with a passing precision of 87%.

LB – Muhammed Uvais (Jamshedpur FC)

Muhammed Uvais emerged as the main man for Jamshedpur FC in their game against Bengaluru FC. Uvais capped off his brilliant defensive performance with a late winner to complete a comeback win for his side at home. He capitalised on Gurpreet’s mistake and sent the ball into the back of the net with a sublime first touch. The left-back also made three tackles, two interceptions, and one tackle and executed two key passes as well.

Singh won the majority of his duels was a livewire on the right flank and caused a lot of problems for the opposition defenders.

CM – Mohamed Irshad (Mohammedan SC)

Mohamed Irshad pulled the strings in the middle of the park for Mohammedan SC. He played as per the situation and contributed in both attacks and defence. His presence in the midfield did not allow NorthEast United to go through the middle and create chances. Irshad won nine ground duels and made six clearances and tackles each. Additionally, he also made two blocks and interceptions each while making a crucial goal-line clearance.

CM – Mohamed Ali Bemammer (NorthEast United FC)

Mohamed Ali Bemammer recorded a great performance in the middle for NorthEast United. He made a lot of difference with his extraordinary style of play and was successful in executing a number of line-breaking passes. Bemammer executed six key passes and was excellent with his ball distribution. His vision coupled with his ability to find his teammates with pinpoint passes makes him a unique proposition for the Highlanders.

LM – Brison Fernandes (FC Goa)

The youngster brought his A-game to the table and guided FC Goa to a memorable win away from home. Fernandes is now the second-highest Indian goalscorer in the league this season with five goals to his name. In addition to his goals, he also made two interceptions and tackles each.
