ISL 2024-25: Sunil Chhetri leads Matchweek 11 Team of the Week attack after impressive hat-trick

Punjab FC’s Filip Mrzljak clearly has been one of the finest foreign recruits this season.
We are halfway through the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) and the stakes are only getting higher. The week began with FC Goa’s 2-0 triumph over Hyderabad FC away from home followed by a hard-fought and entertaining 0-0 draw between Odisha FC and Mumbai City FC. Punjab FC thrashed Mohammedan SC 2-0 in Delhi and continued their good form.
Chennaiyin FC were brought down by a new look East Bengal in the first match of this week’s Saturday double header before Bengaluru FC secured the bragging rights with a spirited victory over the Kerala Blasters. Mohun Bagan wrapped up the week with an important 2-0 win against NorthEast United in Guwahati.
On that note, let us take a look at Khel Now’s team of the week for game week 11.
Formation: 3-4-3
Goalkeeper – Amrinder Singh (Odisha FC)
Amrinder was in really good form this week and put together an exceptional performance under the bar for Odisha FC against his former club Mumbai City FC. Singh recorded a clean sheet against Mumbai’s star-studded attacking line and made eight saves, including three saves from inside the box and one high claim in the process.
Right Centre-Back – Asish Rai (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)
Asish Rai put up his best performance of the season so far and helped Mohun Bagan secure a crucial win on the road. Rai was solid at the right back positions and kept NorthEast United’s danger man Alaeddine Ajaraie at bay with his pace and awareness. He created both goals for the Mariners, racking up two assists in the process while making five clearances and interceptions each.
Centre-Back – Sandesh Jhingan (FC Goa)

Sandesh Jhingan put up another solid performance at the back for FC Goa against Hyderabad FC. Jhingan helped the Gaurs keep yet another clean sheet and did not allow the Nizams any chances to have a go against his side. The 31-year-old recorded four clearances, three tackles and one block while winning the majority of his duels.
Left Centre-Back – Tekcham Abhishek Singh (Punjab FC)
Abhishek has been a consistent performer for Punjab FC at the back. His ability to play on either side of the back line comes in as an added advantage for the Shers. The defender possesses a never-say-die attitude and works tirelessly on the pitch. He made four clearances, three interceptions and two tackles while recording a passing accuracy of 80%.
Right Midfield – Udanta Singh (FC Goa)
Udanta Singh was on fire for FC Goa against Hyderabad FC and dropped in a match-winning performance on the right flank. The winger completed 89% of his passes, including two key passes and also completed 2/2 dribbles. Singh scored a brilliant goal and also made three tackles and one interception to wrap up an all-round show.
Central Midfield – Filip Mrzljak (Punjab FC)
Filip Mrzljak has been a treat to watch in the middle of the park for the Punjab FC. He has been undoubtedly one of the finest overseas recruits in the league this season and has already made a name for himself with his strong and consistent displays in the middle of the park. Mrzljak had three shots on target and also scored a goal in the process. Moreover, he won a lot of his duels and made three clearances and two tackles.
Central Midfield – Iker Guarrotxena (FC Goa)
Iker Guarrotxena continues to drop in extraordinary performances in the league and secure crucial points for his side. The Spaniard has been one of the best and most influential foreign players that the league has ever witnessed. Guarrotxena scored one of the two goals for FC Goa while producing two key passes and one more big chance.
Left Midfield – Liston Colaco (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)
Liston Colaco continued his good run of form and has made it to yet another team of the week. He was a livewire on the left flank and kept on threatening the opposition backline with his swift and fast moves until he found the back of the net in the second half. Colaco netted his ninth goal against NorthEast United and took his side over the line in Guwahati.

Left Wing – Ryan Williams (Bengaluru FC)
Ryan Williams was one of the most exciting players to watch this week. The man scored a goal and also recorded an assist as Bengaluru FC wrapped up a historic league double over the Kerala Blasters. Williams was at the top of his game and created a lot of problems for the Blasters with his blistering pace and creativity.
Striker – Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC)

Sunil Chhetri put together a lionhearted performance against the Kerala Blasters and announced that he is not slowing down anytime soon. The former Indian skipper has been enjoying a phenomenal run of form this season and has scored eight goals, including a hat-trick this week. He scored twice in quick successions to snatch the game away from their arch-rivals and bring his side back to winning ways.
Right Wing – Manvir Singh (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)
Manvir Singh possibly scored his best-ever ISL goal to secure all three points for Mohun Bagan. The Indian international scored a goal straight from the heavens and left no chance for the keeper to save it. He also came back to help the defenders keep the Highlanders at bay and made three clearances and two interceptions in the process.
