WATCH: Raphael Messi Bouli gives Punjab FC flying start in ISL 2026-27 with 39-second opener
Messi Bouli just scored twice in 13 games for Jamshedpur last season
The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi geared up to host the second matchweek fixture of the Indian Super League, where home team Punjab FC locked horns with Odisha FC in what has been a cracker of a match so far between the Shers and the Juggernauts.
Punjab FC, led by Pavlos Dermitzakis made it to the semi finals of the IFA Shield, before bowing out against Mohun Bagan in penalties in the semi finals. On the other hand, Odisha FC did not have a proper pre-season, and the onus was on the veteran T. G. Purushothaman to deliver results for the Juggernauts.

The match began, and the Juggernauts kicked off. Punjab FC regained possession early, and Brazilian winger Raposo was seen linking up with Messi Bouli before giving a sublime pass to Suhail. Meanwhile, Uvais had already made an overlapping run before Suhail passed the ball to him.
Uvais gave a brilliant cross from the left flank. Stephen Eze and Saviour Gama could only stare in disbelief as Raphael Messi Bouli put the ball in the back of the net with his right foot. Hrithik Tiwari and Odisha FC’s defence were seen protesting for offside, but the linesman kept his flags down.
It was just 39 seconds on the clock, and the Cameroonian scored on his ISL debut for the Shers. It was a brilliantly executed goal, and Punjab were 1-0 up in less than a minute.
