The Indian Women’s League (IWL) 2024-25 has been nothing less than an extraordinary spectacle and a tournament filled with surprises and unpredictability. The Moshal Girls displayed their valiant performance and finished the season at the top of the table with a solitary loss, securing a continental spot to represent India among the best clubs in Asia.

Another big surprise was the downfall of Odisha FC. The reigning Champions not only had a forgettable season but also got relegated to the second division along with House of Power Soccer FC. In this article, we shall take a close look at all the award winners from the IWL Awards 2024-25.

Fazila Ikwaput wins the Golden Boot as Panthoi Chanu emerges as the Best Goalkeeper

In a season that demonstrated East Bengal’s dominance, Fazila Ikwaput of Gokulam Kerala bagged the Golden Boot award with 24 goals. The 29-year-old Ugandan centre forward has previously plied her trade for teams like Lady Doves FC and Omonia Women FC before joining Gokulam for his second innings.

With Panthoi Chanu between the sticks for East Bengal, the Moshal Girls conceded only 10 goals in the entire season. The 29-year-old custodian from Manipur has also represented the senior National team on 19 occasions and has featured for Eastern Sporting Union and Manipur Police.

Purnima Kumari wins Best Defender as Shilky Devi is adjudged Best Midfielder

Purnima Kumari from Sethu FC won the Best Defender Award after the Madurai-based outfit managed to put up a defensively resolute performance in the season. Purnima, hailing from Simdega, Jharkhand, has made a mark in Indian football after she was featured in the matches against the USA, Brazil, and Morocco in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Hembram Shilky Devi of Gokulam Kerala bagged the award for the Best Midfielder. The teenage sensation from Manipur has been in sublime form, and she was also the youngest player to feature in the AFC Women’s Asia Cup, few years ago.

Gokulam grab Best Match Organisation as East Bengals win Best Media Operations Award

The EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode hosted the home games of Gokulam Kerala. For excellence in organising matches and ensuring a hassle-free and organised matchday experience for players and spectators, Gokulam Kerala won the Best Match Organisation Award.

For peak creativity in social media and all-around media coverage of the team and the league, the IWL Champions also won the Award for the Best Media Operations in the IWL 2024-25 season.
