Manolo Marquez sets his sight on first silverware as Indian team football coach.
Indian National Football team will be plying their trade in the upcoming Vietnam Friendly. After Manolo Marquez took over the reins of the Blue Tigers, they have failed to register a single win.
After playing a goalless draw against Mauritius and facing a humiliating defeat at the hands of Syria, Marquez will be determined to make an optimistic start to Friendly.
126th-ranked India will lock horns against 116th-placed Vietnam. The match will be played in Vietnam.
Manolo Marquez was cautious while selecting in-form and fully fit players with a hunger to shine and cover that extra mile from training sessions to the field.
Rahim Ali, Anirudh Thapa and Nandhakumar Sekar found their name missing from the final 23-man squad despite making it to the probables.
It will be interesting to see how Indian forwards like Vikram Partap Singh, Farukh Chaudhary and Manvir rise to the occasion and try to fill the boots of the captain, leader, and legend Sunil Chettri in his absence post-retirement.
