Bengaluru FC sign Eugeneson Lyngdoh on free transfer
The 32-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the Blues.
Once a vital part of the Blues, Eugeneson Lyngdoh returns to his former club Bengaluru FC after the southerners announced his signing on Monday. The reigning ISL champions have signed the former ATK midfielder on a one-year deal.
The former India international was a vital cog in Bengaluru's I-League triumph back in the 2015-16 season and their Federation Cup victories in 2014-15 and 2016-17 respectively. He was also the creative nucleus of the Indian national team. But, the tables have turned for Lyngdoh in the last two campaigns, as injuries and a drop in performance have made life difficult for the former Shillong Lajong midfielder.

Lyngdoh signed for the Blues on a free transfer on Monday
The midfielder started his senior career with Rangdajied United in 2006 and has previously plied his trade with clubs like Lajong, FC Pune City, Bengaluru FC and ATK.
He joined ATK in 2017 after the players' draft, with huge expectations upon him. However, the 32-year-old succumbed to a long-term injury which he picked up in pre-season against Jamshedpur FC and was out for the whole campaign. The following season saw him sitting on the bench for most of the games. He failed to impress then ATK coach Steve Coppell and only managed a few minutes for the Kolkata outfit last season.

It will be a chance at redemption for Lyngdoh at Bengaluru in the upcoming season, as the 32-year-old will look to get going and again knock on the door of the national team. He may be past his prime, but the AIFF Player of the Year in 2015 could still be a vital addition to Carles Cuadrat's side.
