The left-back is set to join ATK Mohun Bagan ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League.

Subhasish Bose officially announced his departure from Mumbai City FC through a message on his official Instagram handle. The 24-year-old left-back was a vital part of the Islanders since joining them from Bengaluru FC before the 2018-19 Indian Super League season. However, as exclusively reported by Khel Now back in January this year, Bose is on his way to ATK Mohun Bagan on a long-term deal.

The full-back stated, “A sportsman's life moves with challenges and Mumbai City FC was more than a challenge. It has been a great honour and privilege for me to be a part of this wonderful family and to perform with all these great athletes. I have lived some unforgettable moments here which will last for a lifetime.”

He further added, “I sincerely want to thank all the support staff and officials for believing in me and making me go the extra mile. Finally, to all the amazing fans, your relentless support through thick and thin has made us the team we were this season. Thanks for all the love and good wishes, means the world to me!”

Bose made 34 appearances in the league for the metropolis club. He was instrumental in Jorge Costa’s lineup and often looked to provide defensive solidity in addition to some creative impetus going forward. He notched a solitary goal and bagged three assists in these games, in addition to recording 3.29 tackles and 6.82 clearances on an average per match.

According to our report from earlier this year, the Kolkata outfit have offered the former Churchill Brothers player a lucrative offer that he could not afford to miss out on.  On the other hand, the City Football Group-owned entity are already set to sign Mandar Rao Desai to replace Bose in the left-back slot. Desai was integral in Sergio Lobera’s unit at FC Goa previously and will look to sustain that level of performance for the Islanders in the upcoming campaign.

Bose will commence a new chapter in his career for the newfound entity. It is important to note that Sanjiv Goenka had confirmed in March that India internationals Bose along with Manvir Singh will join their squad in the 2020-21 season during ATK's ISL title celebration ceremony.
