Son Heung-min to LAFC remains the most expensive signing in the history of Major League Soccer.

The Major League Soccer (MLS) 2026 season began in late February. Since then, there have not been major transfers until the start of the recent summer window. Some of the top stars from different leagues from all around the world are moving to the USA.

Most of the well-known names move to MLS towards the end of their career. Several clubs are out there in the transfer market looking for value-for-money options to strengthen their squads for the rest of the season. Major League Soccer is not known for record-breaking transfer fees.

5. Elias Achouri

The 27-year-old is now a part of Major League Soccer. San Diego FC locked in a deal for €3.00 million and signed the Tunisian left-winger from FC Copenhagen. Elias Achouri was a part of his nation in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

But his performances were not very influential. It will now be interesting to see him perform in the USA.

4. Kai Wagner

Philadelphia Union have now signed their required full-back. Kai Wagner will now be playing in the MLS. The Union signed a deal with Birmingham City FC for €3.50m.

Wagner will now play in the USA after a three-year contract has been finalised between the two clubs.

3. Moises Mosquera

Moises Mosquera is now a part of Sporting Kansas City in the Major League Soccer. The Wizards sealed a €3.62 million deal with Mexican professional football club FC Juarez. Kansas City have performed poorly in defence recently.

With the addition of Mosquera in the backline, they might benefit.

2. Brais Méndez

Now Columbus Crew have got their man. Reportedly, Brais Méndez’s market value was around €8.00m. But the Crew have signed the attacking midfielder from Real Sociedad in a three-year deal for €6 million.

The Major League Soccer club might have benefited here, but will Méndez be able to justify his price tag?

1. Bénie Traoré

Benie Traoré is the most expensive summer 2026 signing in Major League Soccer. New York City FC bagged an €8.75 million deal for the 23-year-old winger from the Swiss Super League club, FC Basel. Traore, with his attacking intent, is going to be a crucial player for the Pigeons in the MLS.

It will be interesting to look at his performances. NYCFC can now shoot their chance at winning the league.
