About
Balwant Singh rose through the ranks of JCT, before making a switch to Salgaocar FC. A late bloomer, he made his mark with Churchill Brothers in the 2013-14 Hero I-League season, knocking in goals consistently for the Red Machines and played a key role in the Goan club's Federation Cup triumph the same year. Balwant made his senior India debut against Bangladesh in March 2014. Later in the year, he entered the history books as he became the first Indian to score in the Hero ISL when he found the net for Chennaiyin FC against FC Goa. With Mumbai City FC in the 2017-18 campaign, he scored six goals in 16 appearances. He switches allegiance to ATK for the new season and it remains to be seen what he can bring to the plate.
