Pritam Kumar Singh is defensively sound player, especially on the left side. Crossing is also one of his major attributes. He started playing in his village when he was eight years old. He also attended football coaching clinics while growing up and in 2010 joined the Sambalpur football academy in Manipur. After representing his state in the under-17 Dr B C Roy Trophy, he was invited to the national camp for various junior tournaments and played in several of them including the AFC Cup qualifiers in Qatar last year. He joined the Shillong Lajong Youth Academy in the summer of 2014.
