The Mizoram-based defender started off his career with Hero I-League team Aizawl FC, before representing cubs in the Mizoram Premier League such as Chanmari FC and Zo United. Following a return to Aizawl for a second stint, Lallawmawma would go on to ply his trade with DSK Shivajians and Mohun Bagan in two back-to-back Hero I-League seasons. ATK will be his first stint in the Hero Indian Super League.
