Jesse Lingard set to be offered contract extension by Manchester United
The Englishman currently has two years left in his contract.
Amidst the unclear futures of multiple players before a complete squad overhaul at Manchester United, Jesse Lingard is set to be offered a new contract with a pay-rise by Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.
Jesse Lingard, a product of the youth academy of Manchester United, has represented the Red Devils since 2011. The 26-year-old had debuted for the Red Devils at the age of 18 years. Ever since then, Lingard has been in and out of the team for them.
The winger who has represented United in 111 Premier League games, has scored 17 goals for them. Lingard earns just over £100,000-a-week with United and has represented the English national team in the World Cup in 2018.
The Norwegian gaffer of United has not been too happy with the squad he has and with the attitude the players has. Solksjaer is set to offload some players while will try to sign a couple of new faces to replace them.
Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez are set to be moving out while the likes of Marcus Rashford and David de Gea have been asking for an improved contract. Players like Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia, Juan Mata and a couple of new others too would not be donning the United colours coming season.

But Jesse Lingard is said to have impressed Solksjaer enough to have been offered a new contract. The new contract would see his two-year stay get extended. The attacking midfielder would also be offered a pay rise of over 25 percent. The pay rise would see him earn over £130,000-a-week, The Sun reports.
United have also brought in direct competition for Lingard though. Daniel James has signed for United from Swansea for a fee reported to be in the range of £15m. The Welsh winger played in the Championship last year and has been said to have impressed enough to be bought as a cheap alternative for Jadon Sancho.
