The Portuguese tactician was sacked by the Red Devils in December last year.
Jose Mourinho would be leading the Tottenham Hotspur side to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Wednesday and it is definitely going to be an interesting clash as the Portuguese was sacked from United last December that led to the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Mourinho’s team has now won three matches in a row since his arrival and they look to be in a good enough touch to face an already depleted Manchester United unit that failed to secure a victory against Aston Villa in their last encounter. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] The Spurs’ manager spoke about the prospect of facing his former club in their home ground as he said, “I feel good. I like to play. I like to play big matches. I like to play against the best teams and that is the most thing. Going back to Old Trafford is to go back to a place where I was happy. I can say that I was happy. I have a great relation with the Manchester United supporters. I went back as a pundit which is a different perspective." “I was really humbled by such a beautiful reception. Tomorrow I will go back as the coach of the team that will try to beat Manchester United and that maybe gives a different perspective." “I expect this respect that they always show towards me. But I understand that what they want is exactly the opposite of what I want. I want Tottenham to win. They want Manchester United to win. So, during the match, of course, I expect them to forget me and I expect them to support their team to try to get the result that they want.” [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] Tottenham have leapfrogged places since Mourinho’s appointment as currently they are placed in the fifth spot with five victories from 14 matches to their name. They have drawn five times, lost four matches and are six points behind the fourth-placed Chelsea. United, on the other hand, are languishing in the ninth spot with merely four victories from 14 matches and hence are a mammoth 32 points behind the league-leaders. Meanwhile, their top-four hopes seem to be sliding away too, considering the intense competition amongst all the mid-table clubs currently and United’s constant inability to churn out victories against lower-ranked teams. Manchester United have failed to win against the likes of Sheffield United, Astana and Aston Villa in their last two matches and are set to face Spurs and Manchester City in the upcoming games.Latest News
