The English top-flight season will get underway on August 14.
The Premier League has announced its fixtures for the 2021/22 season on Wednesday. The English top-flight domestic season will begin on August 14 with defending champions Manchester City visiting Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day. Manchester United, who finished at a distant second, will host Leeds United at Old Trafford on the same day. The season will conclude on May 22 with Mikel Arteta's Arsenal playing Everton at home.
The thrilling start to the season will continue at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea will host Crystal Palace in an opening day London derby. Newly promoted Norwich City will welcome Liverpool at Carrow Road. While Brentford, who won the EFL Championship playoffs, play Arsenal on their Premier League debut.
Manchester Derby on November 6
Meanwhile, the first Manchester derby of the Premier League 2021/22 season is at Old Trafford on November 6. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's must deal with a tricky round of games by facing Leicester (A), Liverpool (H) and Spurs (A) before the derby.
Manchester City will visit Stamford Bridge and Anfield on consecutive weekends in October. However, the Cityzens have an easy round of Premier League fixtures on either side of it. The first North London derby will be played on September 25. Arsenal and Tottenham would have already played Chelsea and Manchester City by then. However, Spurs will travel to the Emirates Stadium after hosting Chelsea in the previous week.
With no European football to play for, Arsenal would have enough time to recuperate between games while Tottenham will be involved in the inaugural UEFA Conference League. Tottenham will host Arsenal in the reverse fixture on January 15.
Tottenham will also be involved in another London derby against Crystal Palace on Boxing Day. On the same weekend, Liverpool play Leeds United while Manchester City host Leicester.
United visit the Etihad Stadium for the second Manchester derby on March 5 with fixtures against Spurs and Leicester and Liverpool to follow. Solskjaer's side also play Chelsea on the penultimate matchday of this season.
