Ratings: Castaneda flies high as Sreenidi Deccan overcome Kerala Blasters
Kerala Blasters lost their second game of the Hero Super Cup against I-League runners Sreenidi Deccan.
The Yellow Army faced their first defeat in the competition at the hands of I-League runners-up Sreenidi Deccan. The side from Hyderabad played very good football and scored twice in the first half to take a healthy lead into half time. Kerala Blasters tried their best to get back into the game in the second half, but none of their efforts came to fruition as Sreenidi Deccan defended commendably to get their first win.
In light of these, let us take a look at how the players of both teams fared.
Sreenidi Deccan
Aryan Niraj Lamba - 7.5
Had a very good game. Made a few good saves, especially in the second half, to help his team come out victorious from the competition.
Bijay Chhetri - 7.0
Played his part well in Sreenidi Deccan’s defence to prevent the Kerala Blasters' attackers from scoring.
Arijit Bagui - 7.5
Bagui had a good game and ensured that his team take home a clean sheet tonight. Made a few good touches and tackles to prevent Kerala Blasters' attackers from scoring.
Sosairam Dinesh Singh - 7.5
Dinesh played a very good game. Provided the assist for his side’s second goal. Played his part very well in the side’s defence to ensure a victory.
Faysal Shayesteh - 6.5
Played his part effectively to prevent Kerala’s midfielders from taking control of the pitch. Faysal looked good in aiding attack as well.
Mayakkannan M - 6.0
Mayakkannan looked in sync with his colleagues in the Sreenidi Deccan midfield to prevent Kerala Blasters from dominating the game.
Phalguni Singh - 7.0
Phalguni was adjudged the man of the match. Made a few good forward passes, many of which looked threatening.
Stanislas Ankira - 7.5
Had a strong impact in the midfield of his team. Contributed both defensively and in attacks.
Rosenberg Gabriel - 8.0
A standout attacker for Sreenidi in today’s game. Looked dangerous on the right flank. Whipped in several dangerous crosses.
David Castaneda - 8.0
Perhaps the best player on the pitch today. Scored a brilliant goal. Took several other attempts that could have extended his side’s lead.
Rilwan Hassan - 7.5
Scored the first goal for his side, which was a brilliant one. Took many other attempts, most of which looked threatening.

Kerala Blasters
Sachin Suresh - 6.5
Sachin had a mixed outing. Made a good save in the second half to keep his team in the game. Did not have much to do to prevent any of the goals of the Hyderabad side.
Ayush Adhikari - 5.0
Had to do better in the case of Sreenidi Deccan’s first goal. Was not able to provide much assistance to his side’s attacks as well.
Hormipam Ruivah - 6.5
Hormipam played decently in the Kerala Blasters defence’s heart. However, should have done better in both instances of Sreenidi Deccan’s goals.
Marko Leskovic - 5.5
Had a pretty bad outing. Was subbed off early. Needed to do better to prevent Sreenidi Deccan’s second goal.
Nishu Kumar - 6.0
Nishu had a decent show. Kept the opposition winger silent for the majority of the game. Was not effective in aiding his side’s attacks.

One of the better performers for Kerala Blasters in today’s game. Looked lively in the midfield and tried his best to provide assistance to his team’s backline. Was not good enough to stitch good forward passes.
Rahul KP - 6.0
Despite seeing a lot of the ball, Rahul was not able to impact the game much. Was not able to stitch sharp passes or make his trademark runs which could have created problems for Sreenidi Deccan.
Ivan Kaliuzhnyi - 5.0
The story is quite similar for Kaliuzhnyi as well. Was not much visible throughout the game. Took one weak shot that was comfortably saved by Aryan Lamba.
Bryce Miranda - 5.5
Looked decent in the second half but was not clinical enough in front of Sreenidi Deccan’s penalty area. Played a few good passes but created no real threat whatsoever.

Similar to Diamantakos, had a few moments of brilliance in the second half, whereby he took a few attempts. None of them was clinical though.

Looked good in defence and provided stability to his team’s backline after coming on. Did not allow much space for any of the strong attackers of Sreenidi Deccan.
Sahal Abdul Samad - 5.0
Came on in the second half. Did not look much effective throughout.
