Sanjoy Sen set to skip Mohun Bagan's AFC Cup Play-off in the Maldives

Ahead of their AFC Cup fixture against Club Valencia of Maldives, Indian giants Mohun Bagan have suffered a big blow to their chances when it was confiormed that Head Coach Sanjoy Sen will not travel to Malé with the squad.
“I will not travel to Maldives with the squad. I have some personal reasons, some family issues to take care of,” said the Mohun Bagan Head Coach.
The Mariners’ Coach cited personal reasons for being unable to travel with the team to Maldives for the AFC qualifying fixture. Mohun Bagan defeated Sri Lankan champions Colombo FC in the previous round to bag their spot in the next qualifying fixture against Club Valencia on Tuesday.
The Bagan coach also revealed that several key squad members such as Debjit Majumder, Pritam Kotal, Jeje Lalpekhlua, Pronay Halder and Souvik Chakraborti will also be rested for the game. Mohun Bagan superstar Sony Norde will also miss boarding the Maldives-bound flight due to some injury problems.
Sanjoy Sen was asked if the AFC Cup is not a high-priority in Mohun Bagan’s season when he revealed he is content with the traveling team to the Maldives and believes the Mohun Bagan players have what it takes to snatch a win against Club Valencia.
