Top four teenagers with most assists in single MLS regular season ft. Alphonso Davies & Cavan Sullivan

Sullivan is one of those who created history in Major League Soccer (MLS).

Historically, only a few teenagers have produced double-digit assist totals in a single Major League Soccer season. Cavan Sullivan recently shattered that record. Numerous youths before him also came to prominence in the MLS with their impressive performance.

With Sullivan breaking that record, we have listed other teenage players who are on the list of the assists record in a single MLS season.

List of teenagers with most assists in a normal Major League Soccer season

4. Justin Ellis: 10 assists

Justin Ellis has recorded 10 assists in the 2026 MLS regular season, two short of the league’s single-season record for a youngster. Ellis initially joined a Major League Soccer side in 2021, when he joined Inter Miami’s academy. In 2023, he joined their rivals Orlando City, where he became Orlando’s 19th homegrown acquisition after making his professional debut with their reserve club, Orlando City B, the previous year.

3. Landon Donovan: 10 assists

Landon Donovan has accumulated 10 assists or more in a single MLS regular season five times throughout his remarkable career, primarily with the LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes. Only a handful of players in Major League Soccer history have accumulated 10 assists in five or more regular seasons.

Cavan Sullivan of the Philadelphia Union established the MLS milestone for the most assists by a teenager in one campaign, collecting his 12th during a 4-3 victory over Sporting Kansas City.
