Everton have been tipped to make a summer transfer move for Como winger Assane Diao, with media reports revealing that the Premier League side has “inquired” about the Senegalese forward’s availability.
“Everton have just inquired about the situation of Assane Diao from Como,” Italian journalist Matteo Moretto wrote on X.
However, media reports also claim that Como head coach Cesc Fabregas has deemed Diao not for sale. The winger, who joined from Real Betis, is a big part of the future plans for the Serie A side, and only a big offer will force their hand.
If Diao indeed makes the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, he will be the third winger to join David Moyes’ side. Earlier, the Toffees made Tyrique George’s loan move from Chelsea permanent. They also signed Crystal Palace’s Brennan Johnson on a swap deal involving Dwight McNeil.
Merlin Röhl also joined on a permanent transfer from SC Freiburg. The other two signings were midfielders Christian Norgaard from Arsenal and Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney.
Meanwhile, Tim Iroegbunam has been strongly tipped to leave Everton, with Hull City the favourites to sign the England youth international. Trabzonspor have also been tipped to make a move.

Assane Diao’s career so far
Born in Senegal and raised in Spain, Diao started his youth career with CD Badajoz, Flecha Negra, and Balon de Cadiz. He moved to Real Betis’ academy in 2021, signing a three-year contract. He was converted from a midfielder to a winger at the Seville club.
Diao made his senior debut in a UEFA Europa League match against Rangers in September 2023. He scored on his LaLiga debut against Granada in the same month. He finished his debut season with 18 appearances in LaLiga, seven in continental competitions, and three in the Copa del Rey. He scored four goals across all competitions.
He became a key part of Los Verdiblancos’ attack in the following season, making 10 LaLiga appearances. His impressive performances in Andalusia prompted Como to sign him for €12 million in the winter transfer window. He played 15 times in Serie A in his debut season.
Last season, he made 17 league appearances for Fabregas’ side, scoring two goals and registering one assist. He has solidified his reputation as one of the most exciting wingers in the game, capable of playing on both flanks.
A youth international for Spain, Diao opted to represent his country of birth, Senegal. He made his international debut in a World Cup qualifier against Sudan in 2025. He was part of Senegal’s FIFA World Cup 2026 squad, playing in a match against Iraq. So far, he has earned six caps.
