David Moyes’ Everton side take on Pierre Sage’s Crystal Palace. The Eagles will be without their star player Ismaila Sarr for their Premier League 2026-27 opener.
Moyes’ side looks pretty solid. They open new season with Jordan Pickford in between the posts. Vitalii Mykolenko, Jarrad Branthwaite, James Tarkowski form the core of the defence. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry will look to shake things up in attack.
In the Toffees’ bench names such as Michael Keane, Tyler Dibling, Brennan Johnson, and James Garner are all set to come up when called as substitutes.
Meanwhile, Sage has named a strong starting XI. It comprises notable names such as Dean Henderson, Chadi Riad, Chris Richards, Adam Wharton, Daichi Kamada, Daniel Munoz, Eddie Nketiah, and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The big name in the Everton vs Crystal Palace Premier League match is missing for reasons outside of match fitness or anything. He is basically pushing for a move away from Selhurst Park. Ismaila Sarr has even reportedly missed training to let the authorities know that wishes a move out.
Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray seems to be his destination. The club even tried to attempt a transfer with a failed €35 million bid. The English club seemed to have turned down that approach.
Although initially Sage said everything’s alright and Sarr would play, in reality things have been different. Every other big name is on the squad of Crystal Palace, apart from Ismaila Sarr.
Only time will tell whether the player has a future here or not.
