For disciplinary concerns, Jack Grealish was dropped from Everton’s squad for their Carabao Cup victory over Matthias Jaissle’s squad last Thursday.
Prior to the EFL Cup fourth-round match, the 31-year-old had skipped training without authorisation. He had also missed the previous game, a Premier League loss against Arsenal, due to sickness.
The England international, who returned to Everton on a second lucrative loan contract from Manchester City this summer, was not present as the team flew to the northeast. He was not named in the starting lineup or the bench for tonight’s clash.
