The veteran hasn’t yet met the high expectations set on him, having scored only one goal in the semis and provided one assist in the campaign opener, both coming against Canada. He needs to bounce back in the all-important finale, with his magical skills, goals, and assists. And if he manages to do so, no player or tactician can hold him back.

James Rodriguez (Colombia)

Captain James Rodriguez attacking from the midfield is always a threat to any defence no matter how old he is. The Colombian displayed true class and consistency throughout the tournament and can easily be stated as the best player for Los Cafeteros in Copa America 2024.

Operating from the right wing in the group stage and attacking from the midfield in the knock-outs, Rodriguez has six assists and one goal to his name. The only match where he didn’t have a goal contribution was the group-stage game against Brazil. Marking him will be the biggest challenge for Lionel Scaloni’s men.
