Antonio has recorded just three goals in 17 PremierLeague games this season
Michail Antonio, striker for West Ham United, recently took a little jab at fellow Premier League side Arsenal‘s supporters.
The supporters of West Ham are well aware of Michail Antonio for making contentious remarks, and now, Arsenal supporters will also be acquainted with his style of play!
The 33-year-old recently aroused the ire of the Hammers supporters by implying in an odd way that playing “sexy” football is incompatible with success.
Earlier in the season, Gabby Agbonlahor chastised the Jamaican international for being overly vocal on the Footballer’s Football podcast. There are moments when he acts quite impolitely, as when he made fun of Richarlison, a forward for Tottenham, for not scoring more goals the previous season.
When the two teams played again in February 2024, Arsenal crushed West Ham 6-0 at London Stadium, but the Hammers had triumphed 2-0 in north London six weeks prior.
Antonio was also captivated by a tie in the closing weeks of the 2022–2023 season, in which West Ham overcame an early deficit to thwart Arsenal’s championship hopes – even though the Hammers striker isn’t entirely sure he recalls the outcome! During an interview with the Footballer’s Football podcast, Antonio made fun of the Gunners supporters.

And Antonio has targeted Arsenal, our rivals in London, this time.
“Arsenal fans annoy me. Because as soon as they are tip-toeing close to anything, they’re the best team in the world. It’s actually unbelievable how delusional these people are!”
“I’m talking about my agent, my family and my friends. Because as soon as they are top-toeing close to anything, they’re the best team in the world. It’s actually unbelievable how delusional these people are.
“Bro, last year when we beat Arsenal at home and they were top of the league, my agent, who I’ve been with since I was 19, called me up and called me a waste man!”
He added: “Before the season they were talking about Arsenal and some of the stuff they say is actually outrageous!”
