The Gunners plan to bring in a new No. 9 this summer

Arsenal have narrowed down their summer transfer target list to 11 strikers. In the previous two transfer windows, the Gunners were linked to a striker; however, similar to the majority of Premier League teams, they decided against making a major purchase in January, partly because of financial fair play regulations.

Arsenal spent £105 million for Declan Rice last summer and £65 million on Kai Havertz. According to financial reports released at the beginning of the month, the team lost £52.1 million for the year ending May 31, 2023.

Arteta’s team has been scoring goals in 2024, proving that Arsenal were right to pass on spending the big money to sign a top-tier striker in January. Nevertheless, Arsenal wants to expand their alternatives up front regardless of how their 2023–24 campaign turns out. Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus are now the only traditional centre-forwards in the team. The need is especially pressing because Nketiah has been continuously linked to a move, with Crystal Palace being one of the interested clubs. Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, is an ongoing objective for the Gunners, but the club is aware that Thomas Frank is asking an unaffordable £100 million for his top player, and they risk being drawn into a bidding war.

Benjamin Sesko, a player with 11 goals in 34 games so far this season after moving from Red Bull Salzburg to RB Leipzig in the summer, has reportedly also been observed by Arsenal, according to the Mirror. But the athletic director Edu is evaluating a lot of young strikers, and he is just one of them.

Arsenal are one of several teams interested in Viktor Gyokeres, who has been gun blazing since moving to Sporting Lisbon from Coventry last summer, according to football.london. Gyokeres, who is 25 years old and has a tremendous turn of pace and size, has scored an incredible 36 goals and provided 14 assists in 39 games this season across all competitions. He has all the makings of a successful Premier League player.

However, a large number of people are being watched. Alexander Isak was being pursued by Arsenal in January 2022, and they may be able to steal him this summer by taking benefit of Newcastle’s financial difficulties. The Sweden international wouldn’t come cheap; he cost the Magpies £60 million from Real Sociedad and is under contract until June 2028.

Victor Osimhen, a star player for Napoli who may finally earn his big-money transfer in the summer, is another expensive and clear possibility. However, Edu has other less expensive options to consider. Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord, who is 22 years old and has scored 24 goals so far this season, may have grown weary of Ajax’s hardships, according to Brian Brobbey.

The Gunners’ other objective is This season, the 24-year-old Brazilian has six assists and 22 goals. Another player who is drawing attention in Germany is Lois Openda, who, after finding success with Leipzig, has made his way into the Belgium national squad. This season, the 24-year-old striker has scored 23 goals.
