Cubaris has become an indispensable part of Barcelona’s senior team recently
Mundo Deportivo claim that Barcelona are moving forward with the contracts for Fort, Guiu, and Cubarsi. Although the Catalan daily also mentioned that Chelsea attempted to sign Pau Cubarsi prior to extending his contract, it has previously been claimed that Manchester City were interested in the player last summer.
Given that Cubarsi’s contract expires in 2026 and he has a €10 million release clause, due to this Chelsea might return this summer.
La Masia supports the first-team squad when there isn’t enough money to spend on it, and Barcelona are more than appreciative of the quality that has been coming through their ranks both this season and in previous years.
Following in the footsteps of Gavi and Alejandro Balde, Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, Pau Cubarsi, Hector Fort, and Marc Guiu have all demonstrated quality this year when called upon.
The Blaugrana, however, are currently trying to negotiate a contract that will increase his pay and release option until 2025, when he reaches 18 and is eligible to sign a long-term agreement. Fort’s contract expires in a little more than 15 months, although negotiations are still in progress to find him and Guiu new terms.

Marc Casado, the captain of Barcelona Athletic, is a little different. Despite injuries at his position, Xavi Hernandez hasn’t utilised the 20-year-old much, and the club has the unilateral option to decide whether or not to extend his contract for an additional year.
Barcelona can now relax a little bit in the transfer market this summer knowing that they have quality players on the way to fill their places thanks to the arrival of Fort and Cubarsi. This may also give the Blaugranas permission to make a big sell at the back in order to balance their books. But Chelsea and a host of other teams will undoubtedly strike if they lose sight of the ball.
Before Cubarsi signed a contract with Barcelona last summer, the Blues attempted to sign him.Chelsea is eager to bring the top young players to Stamford Bridge; they have already signed players like 16-year-old Ecuadorian international Kendry Paez.Additionally, Blues executives think Cubarsi has the potential to be a world-class defence. This summer, Chelsea was once again prepared to exercise the option and take advantage of the situation.
