Chelsea's Reece James ruled out until end of year
The right-back has been frequently suffering injuries.
The Telegraph claims that Reece James of Chelsea is not anticipated to recover from his most recent injury before the end of December.
According to the explanation, the Blues will keep helping their defender fight another war, both mentally and physically.
Chelsea have not confirmed the results of the scan or provided a precise timeframe for the Englishman’s return, according to the report. There’s a chance, though, that he won’t rejoin the team until the New Year. James is reportedly “devastated” by the most recent setback in a string of injuries.
Reece James is without a doubt one of the most gifted players in the Chelsea team, but due to a variety of physical issues, his career has been sporadic in recent years.
The 24-year-old right-back played four first-team games for Enzo Maresca’s team before missing the first few months of the 2024–25 season due to injury and suspension. Fans had been eagerly awaiting the results of a scan, but he has already suffered another hamstring injury.
Chelsea have a packed schedule for the remainder of 2024, with ten more games in all competitions before the new year. Maresca will therefore need to rotate his players and utilise his team to its full potential.
Malo Gusto, the only other recognised right-back, suddenly has a big job on his hands since James might be out for the remainder of the year.
Although the Blues have Wesley Fofana and Axel Disasi to cover at right-back, the club’s need to end the Josh Acheampong dilemma is only increased by this injury news.
The club’s 18-year-old Acheampong is a gifted young right-back who might cover for Gusto. However, due to a contract conflict, he is currently out of the picture.
The contract discussions for Acheampong are moving forward with the Premier League team. If this can be resolved in the next few days and he can rejoin Maresca’s team, that would be fantastic.
