The Blues sacked Mauricio Pochettino last Tuesday
Xavi Hernandez will meet with Chelsea to discuss the potential of him taking over as head coach. After three years in charge, Barcelona fired Xavi, making him the most well-known manager to quit this summer.
The former midfield player was going to leave the team at the end of the season, but club president Joan Laporta talked him into staying in April. Since then, the team has changed their mind about his future. Xavi’s contract with the La Liga powerhouse would have expired in 2025, but he will now depart following the team’s season-ending match against Sevilla on Sunday.
Only a few days have passed since Mauricio Pochettino left Chelsea with mutual consent, and now Xavi has left the Catalan club. Following the departure of previous managers Graham Potter and Pochettino from Stamford Bridge, the Blues are searching for their third regular manager in the last two years.
The team has shortlisted Kieran McKenna, Enzo Maresca, and Sebastian Hoeness as their next head coach. And in Xavi, they now have another possible choice.
Over the past few months, FC Barcelona has treated Xavi in an odd and even shameful manner. The club veteran and former captain declared he would leave his position at the end of the season, but the president and board essentially begged him to change his mind. The club shifted its position once more when he declared he would stay, pressing for his departure.

In addition, the club took several actions without directly informing Xavi, such as meeting with his replacement. It was a discourteous and disorganized method of doing business.
Nevertheless, despite how ridiculous the entire affair became, the successor is a qualified coach who merits a shot.
Regarding the designated candidates, McKenna and Maresca are both keen for the position, while the latter has supporters at both Brighton and Manchester United. At the moment, the manager of Leicester City is reportedly “super open and super keen” to take over as Pochettino’s permanent replacement.
Although discussions and inquiries have taken place, it appears that the club’s search for a new manager is about to take a significant turn for the better.
