Top five clubs who could sign Ronald Araujo if he leaves FC Barcelona in summer 2024
Three of these five clubs have Champions League football to offer for next season
Everyone is completely aware that FC Barcelona are going through a financial crisis for quite some time. They have remained trophyless this season. Barcelona need some big money sales to balance their books in the upcoming summer transfer window.
They will need to sell some of their high-profile players in the summer to generate profit. One such player who is in the spotlight is the Uruguayan centre-back Ronald Araujo. He is one of the best defenders in the world and can be sold by the Blaugrana in the summer transfer window to generate a good amount of profit.
Reports have been circulating around that Barca will be prepared to sell him if they receive offers of around 100m Euros. Araujo has had issues with his fitness. His defensive blunder during the home return leg in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against Paris Saint-Germain can’t also go unnoticed.
This caused Barca a huge amount of issues, as he later received a red card and Barcelona were knocked out. Since then rumours of him leaving the club have grown in stature. In this article, we will look at the five clubs who could sign Ronald Araujo if he leaves Barcelona this summer.
5. Manchester United
Manchester United are interested in signing the centre-back in the summer transfer window. Reports say that the Red Devils are prepared to pay double the amount of salary that Barcelona currently pay the centre back. Raphael Varane has not been consistent with his displays for the Old Trafford club of late.
Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have also failed to impress. So, United are in desperate need of a world-class centre-back signing. Hence, Old Trafford can be a potential destination for Ronald Araujo in the summer transfer window.
4. Liverpool
Reports have been going around that Liverpool will be pretty much interested in bringing Ronald Araujo to Anfield in the summer transfer window. Liverpool needed to sign a centre back in the last summer. However, they did not sign any reinforcements in that position.
However, this time around they do need new signings in that position. Ibrahima Konate has not filled in properly in place of Joel Matip who suffered a season-ending injury in December. The Reds do need a quality centre-back who can take the position along with Virgil van Dijk in the starting XI. Joel Matip will leave the Reds at the end of the season and hence the Anfield club does need a replacement for him. Ronald Araujo can be the perfect candidate.

3. Aston Villa
Aston Villa are also interested in signing Ronald Araujo in the summer transfer window. They need a world-class centre-back in their squad as they have qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
Unai Emery can quickly get habituated to work with him as he has a Spanish background. If they manage to get Ronald Araujo, they will send a strong message to the other teams in the Premier League. Ronald Araujo could eventually help them go deep in the Champions League.
2. Chelsea
Chelsea are very much interested in signing Ronald Araujo. They currently don’t have any manager after they sacked Mauricio Pochettino this week. They need to find a replacement for Thiago Silva. He will leave the Blues this summer after the end of his current contract.
Chelsea have had a dismal season. So, they can use the available services of Ronald Araujo if they want to claw their way back to Champions League football.
1. Bayern Munich
It’s been months that Araujo has been linked with a move to German giants Bayern Munich. They have had defensive problems this entire season. So, they are in desperate search of a world-class centre-back like Ronald Araujo.
They are confident in signing him due to their stature and appeal, Barcelona’s financial issue, and their ability to offer Araujo double the salary that he gets in Barcelona. Bayern emerge as the most likely destination for Araujo if he decides to leave Barcelona.
