The Portuguese star travelled with the team despite not being included in the lineup.
As Al Nassr hosted FC Goa in the AFC Champions League 2, star striker Cristiano Ronaldo was present at Al Awwal Park in Riyadh.
Although there had been rumours that the legendary Portuguese player might be included in the matchday roster, the manager ultimately decided that he would not play, but he did travel to the stadium with the team.
It’s interesting to note that FC Goa had already asked Al Nassr to send Cristiano Ronaldo to India for the away game last month. Cristiano Ronaldo’s management and the Saudi club, however, turned down the offer, with Jorge Jesus revealing that he decided to rest the 40-year-old instead.
Despite this, the anticipation was high as many were expecting the Portuguese star to feature against FC Goa in the home game in Saudi Arabia. However, once again, those Indian fans who travelled to the Middle Eastern nation have been left disappointed as they won’t be able to watch Cristiano Ronaldo in action.

Star-studded bench for Al Nassr
Al-Nassr’s other star players are on the bench and will hopefully come off the bench against the Indian club.
The star-studded bench includes players like Sadio Mane, Joao Felix, and Inigo Martinez, despite the Portuguese captain not being listed on the roster.
Manolo Marquez is still tasked with the tough job of assisting his team in earning their first points in the competition. FC Goa have demonstrated bravery and quality, pushing hard, creating significant opportunities, and standing tall against better opponents, even though the results have not entirely reflected their performances.
Brison Fernandes became the first Indian to score a goal in the tournament’s group stages during their previous match against Al Nassr, which was a proud milestone for Indian football.
Despite Cristiano Ronaldo in the stands, Al-Nassr are still a superior side and will be looking to continue their impressive run in the competition and secure all three points.
Did Ronaldo travel with the squad to face FC Goa?
Yes, but he won’t play the game and will be in the stands.
Why is Ronaldo not playing tonight?
He has been rested ahead of the upcoming game.
Has Ronaldo played in any AFC Two matches this term?
No, he hasn’t played in any games so far.
