Fans were hoping to see Ronaldo play tonight.

All the attention was on Al-Nassr’s lineup today to see if Cristiano Ronaldo would be in the starting eleven to play tonight against FC Goa in the AFC Champions League Two.

Supporters were excited to see the Portuguese star when Al-Nassr were drawn with FC Goa in the same group, as their dreams to see one of the greatest of all times play in India were going to become a reality.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo decided not to travel with the squad in their away game against FC Goa, while Jorge Jesus cited the reason that he was rested, and he will decide where he can play.

Now, Indian fans who are travelling to watch FC Goa take on Al-Nassr in Riyadh were hoping that this time they would get to see the striker in action tonight.

Moreover, reports from Riyadh have emerged that Cristiano Ronaldo was included in the squad to face FC Goa tonight. It was welcome news for those Indian fans who had travelled to Saudi Arabia.

Cristiano Ronaldo was NOT included in Al-Nassr’s match-day squad for the AFC Champions League Two clash against FC Goa. He was at the stadium but won’t feature.

Manager Jorge Jesus decided to rest his star centre-forward for more crucial matches, such as the knockout games and Saudi Pro League fixtures.

Cristiano Ronaldo is in his 40s, and Jesus is aware that putting in exertion will certainly cause fatigue to the former Real Madrid player, who has continued to score goals with rapid pace and helped his side to a win with a brace against Al-Feiha recently.

He is most likely to appear in the knockout matches of the AFC Champions League Two and hopefully inspire them to silverware this season after failing to win any since his move to the Middle Eastern country.

Meanwhile, Al-Nassr are top of the Group D table and have secured a place in the knockout stage, while FC Goa are still striving to find their first-ever win in the competition.

Will Ronaldo not play tonight?

Despite being included in the squad, he was unlikely to play.

Where do Al-Nassr stand in the group?

They are first in the ACL Two Group D.

Did Ronaldo play in their away game against FC Goa?

No, he was rested.
