The youngster was recently on trial with FC Barcelona’s U19 team
David Oduro, a player for the Ghanaian Accra Lions FC, recently joined FC Barcelona’s U19 squad for the trials. Right now, the youthful left-back is regarded as one of Ghana’s greatest prospects.
He was previously on trial with the Chelsea academy, and rumour has it that the Blues were impressed. He is now attempting to establish himself with Pol Planas’ Barcelona Juvenil B squad.
Scouts said he’s ready to depart his national division alone and move to Europe, comparing him to a young Alphonso Davies. Barcelona have recently been monitoring African talent, as evidenced by the signing of Ivory Coast native Landry Farre to the Juvenil B squad. Earlier this year, they additionally placed Ibrahim Diarra from Mali on trial.
The technically gifted defender, who is now an Under-20 international and has previously participated in 40 games in the Ghana Premier League, has granted Chelsea an early look.
Oduro is anxious about the idea of representing such a prominent team, but he is still motivated to give it his all and take advantage of this chance.According to him: “It is every player’s dream to play for a big club like Barcelona, and I am no different. Once I’m here, I will do my best and see what happens.”
Oduro has a fantastic chance to demonstrate his abilities and even earn a berth in Barcelona’s young team.
